“My mom and I had been driving all day and pulled into Hoagies about 2 minutes before closing time. We asked CJ and Taylor if it would be possible to still order some food. They said they were happy to do so! Then we told them they we both have celiac disease and asked if they could give us something gluten free. They both went out of their way to read labels for us and even asked if we would like to have corn tortilla strips on our salads instead of croutons (which are not gluten free). They couldn’t have been nicer! As a plus, the food was delicious. Susan and Megan“

“Stopped into Alex Bar-B-Q for breakfast and were blown away with the whole experience. Wendy welcomed us and took care of us the whole time. The Bloody Mary's were delicious. I had Huevos Rancheros with Tritip and I am ready to go back just to order that again. The rest of the table enjoyed their food and drinks. From the outside of the restaurant, to the dining area, to the restroom, it was very clean and welcoming. I would recommend for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Say hi to Wendy while you're there.“

“Absolutely fantastic Hawaiian BBQ. Total comfort food. They are closed for Summer, but this is my go-to Hawaiian place in SLO. The fried fish and coleslaw are particularly bomb. I highly recommend takeout, vs eating in, however, as the atmosphere is very strange. There is no music playing or anything so it’s often dead silent in there. Definitely more of a takeout place. Also I recommend asking for extra sauce, as typically they only provide a small amount. Great food.“

“Poor customer service. Sat down, no one bothered to come to my table to take my order. It wasn't busy either. She was hiding in the back. Only came out when a customer walked in to order at the counter.She chose to help the walk in orders instead. Looked right at her when she did that!!! and still ignored me. I left, will not go back because of it.“

“Stopped by Mulligans at Avila Beach Golf Resort and had a great experience. It was nice and quiet, the food was really good, and the staff was super friendly and inviting.
It’s kind of tucked away at the end of the beach walk, we actually thought it was just a wedding venue at first, which they do host as well, but it turns out it’s the golf clubhouse. Really welcoming spot with genuinely good people who take care of you.
We’ll definitely be back, next time to play the course right by the ocean.“

“Had an 11 person reservation to celebrate a friend’s birthday! The “All You Can Eat” food was amazing, and well seasoned! At the price point, you can definitely get your fill & your moneys worth. The staff was very accommodating with some last minute reservation updates. Scarlett & Simon specifically took great care of us. We never ran out of side dishes. Our drinks were always full. And each entree course came out quickly! Everyone had an amazing time. We’ll definitely be back!“

We've been coming to Avila Barn for decades but yesterday was the first day we ever tried the Chicken Shack & Smokehouse. It won't be the last!“
“They have the best burritos here. In the morning they do a chorizo egg, ham egg, bacon and sausage and at night they do asada, pastor combo asada/pastor The spicy salsa is amazing. They are 8.99 and premade but so delicious I’m addicted to these burritos!“
