“This is one of those "off the beaten path", "surprise find"-type places. We expected a restaurant, but the food counter is inside a liquor store. Regardless, super friendly staff, OUTSTANDING food, and more than ample portions. We took our food to a nearby park and enjoyed the views of the ocean.“
“Fabulous Mexican food. Seriously!I ordered the Birria Queso Taco Plate which comes with a delicious bowl of warm consomme for dipping. The three Birria tacos are served on freshly made corn tortillas and topped with onions, cilantro, and salsa. Lime wedges, pickled vegetables (marinated sliced carrots, onion, jalapeño or bell peppers) and a spicy hot haberno sauce are served on the side.I saw a lot of Mexicans either eating at the bar area or with their families at the dining tables which is usually a very good sign that the place is authentic. The service is friendly, the place is clean, and the food is served quickly.Ice cream, margaritas beer and wine are also served. A child menu includes Taco Combo, Quesadilla, and Burrito for a reasonable price under $9.I highly recommend this newly-opened Mexican restaurant next to the bowling alley in Pismo Beach. They are opened later than most places in February. For now, their hours are 10 am to 9 pm Sundays-Thursdays and 10 am to 10 pm on Fridays and Saturdays.I highly recommend this authentic Mexican restaurant.Vegetarian options: Vegetables are an option under “meat” choices. The marinated vegetables that are pickled came with my order.Kid-friendliness: There are kids eating at the tables with their families. A kids menu is also offered.Wheelchair accessibility: The entrance has a flat sidewalk that opens to glass double-doors so employees can see if a disabled person in a wheelchair needs assistance. The dining tables have chairs that can be rearranged to allow for wheelchair-access.“
“Met the boss, not sure if she was the owner but she wouldn't let me have a bad beer or sample from the same glass to insure I got the best flavor to pick from the menu. We got the pickled plate and it was actually good. Pickled veggies, fennel, cauliflower and several other offerings. I do not like beets but these I would eat again. You can even take pickling classes at this place and sounds like a lot of fun. Stop in and grab some veggies, a great brew and meet the locals. The place is primarily open to the elements so it is a little chilly in the winter months.“
“The food was awesome, but it tasted a bit bland and it could be a bit sweeter. You must try it as it is very good overall. The space inside is very small and there is not much room to move. The workers were very nice and helpful. I think that you should definitely give this place a try and support this small business.i also loved all the decorations and the inspirational quotes on the inside. I loved the mirror in the bathroom and the back of the door. They also, have a lot of different food options. So, you do not just have to get a smoothie they have other things as well. in conclusion, I would recommend this place as it is very nice and homey!!“
“The best sourdough I've ever had! I live in north county but, any time I'm in or near Pismo I stop and grab a fresh loaf from House of the Rising Bread !! The guy that bakes all this goodness is such a nice man, super friendly, and the vibe in his little place feels really good . Haven't had a chance to try any of the sandwiches they prepare there but, I'm sure they're amazing with that delicious bread . Check it out and support this sweet business.“
“Went to Sando's as a family of 5. The owners were welcoming and accommodating. Great atmosphere and delicious meal. The kids all agree it was the best sandwhich ever. The bread is fresh and delicious and the french roll is a must. Definitely recommend. Five star experience!“
“We got lucky and were able to get a seat at the bar. Staff is friendly and attentive. Service is quick, Food didn't take long and was all delicious! Halibut was prepared if I wasn't so full I would have had the apple bread pudding for dessert. Would definitely go back again!“
“Driving around, looking for healthier options for lunch, and this gem popped up on google maps. When I saw that this was vegan, I was not entirely sure how it would taste. I was pleasantly surprised by both of the meals we ordered. The tacos were delicious and the BLTA hit the spot! We walked away feeling full and full of energy from the awesome food. The staff were very courteous and we will be coming back to try more delicious options.“
“One of my favorite coffee shops. Scorpion Bay Coffee offers a haven for coffee enthusiasts with it's cozy atmosphere, expertly crafted drinks, and tasty pastries. Beyond just a place for great coffee, it fosters a warm community vibe that makes every visit feel like coming home.“
“Man o Man.. I love biscuits and gravy and these guys shut me up!! First of all the single serving is HUGE (and I’m a fat guy) so get one and SHARE. The biscuit is big and flaky and hits all the right notes but the gravy is bewitching.I wish I had found them earlier on my many trips to pismo beach.“
“This was our first time. The burgers were fantastic. The service was even better. I discovered the separate milk shake menu with multiple delicious combinations for great shakes. The who experience was terrific and a real find. We will certainly be returning.“
“Good Mexican food. I especially like the chili Colorado plate or burrito. Tender chunks of beef are coated with an authentic and delicious sauce. My wife always enjoys the hearty taco salad with shredded chicken. We’ve been going there for years. It’s reassuring to see many of the same wait staff. It’s busy much of the time, a testament to its popularity with locals and tourists alike. We discovered Zorro’s in 2011. We go there every time we come up to our timeshare. We established a friendship with a wonderful waitress that endures to this day. Good people, good food and good vibes.“
“It's a beautiful, serene space with an extremely comfortable ambiance and our dishes were well executed and delicious. But the gracious, friendly staff are the main reason why I will return whenever I am in the area again. My only regret is that our late dinner meant that we didn't get to enjoy the view at sunset or linger after eating.“
“Flavor town: clean, fresh, seasoned just right.I tend to not like Mexican restaurants, usually have better at home.Pozole had just the right amount of seasoning, not too much oregano and bay leaves. The pineapple passion fruit agua fresca was bright in flavor and not too sweet.Birria was not too salty. Will be coming back.“
“Being going here for years. Great service, great people, excellent food. What we love about the food is it is made to order and when busy the kitchen may run slow but the food quality and taste is always worth the wait. Have some mint tea and enjoy the ambiance.“
“First stop when we come through the Pismo area. Everything is delicious! My favorite thing is the octopus appetizer with a glass of wine. Seasoned to perfection. Service is fantastic as well. This would be my regular place if I was a local.“
“Saw the billboard on 101 so we thought we'd stop in and give it a try. Excellent waitress; knowledgeable and professional. I had Clam chowder and it was outstanding, Then I had the calamari strips, which were pretty good but the batter did not stick when you cut off a piece, so I had to scramble to get a bite of both. My wife had the Coconut Shrimp. It was cooked in old oil and was way to brown, not golden. As well, we both could taste the older, going off flavor of the coconut and macadamia nuts. Excellent wine list with fair pricing. If we come back, we'll probably go for the Crab.“
“Been here twice now and I will definitely be retuning...let's just say it's my family's new go to when we are SLO!!! Everything we have tried from the main dish to the smoothies have been made to order fresh and delicious, served to perfection.“
“Can't go wrong with frozen yogurt. Lots of topping options. Also have the option of getting ice cream from which looked like interesting yummy flavors. Super nice service, very casual which is great since you can just grab it and walk directly to the beach or pier!“
“Can't give this place enough stars. Could be because it was our third stop of the day, but, the Transcendentalist was a recommendation of a wine educator from another winery. This wine did not disappoint and the PickPocket, opened 2 days later, did not disappoint. Highly recommend. will be our first stop on the next wine escapade.“
“Small cozy spot off the main strip. I came here because my kid spotted it. We decided to give it a shot. Upon entering, it felt small. However, there was seating outside. I got a small coffee and a biscuit and gravy w/ egg and hash brown bowl (forgot what it was called). My kid had a waffle with Nutella & banana. An overall, great experience. I didn't get to try the ice cream but definitely coming back for that.“
“My favorite place in Pismo! I enjoyed my first visit so much that I came back twice! Good beer, lots of sports channels, and I made a few friends. The bartenders were awesome. They were quick to serve and kept up with the crowd. The bar has a neighborhood bar feel. It's not touristy but is probably for tourists. It's so close to the beach you can probably go back and forth pretty easy. Go check them out!“
“Express stop for quality food! Small restaurant with outside tables in a very efficient space filled with Italian varieties of olive oils, Gelato and picnic supplies. Staff is professional, friendly and will provide you consierge service! Customer service is key when I was working with a 20 minute window. Ordered: Ravioli de Zucca and Antipasto Salad with plates and silverware for picnic with mom at the AG Rehab hospital. In that 20 minutes- I ordered the meal, and went next door to Sans Liege Wines for a large taste of Syrah and 2 bottles to go home for after visit. Mission accomplished and our hospital picnic was packed with care, was good portion size for 2 and made my mom so happy! The ravioli was perfectly tender and flavorful with that luscious creamy sauce. The salad was a beautiful fresh mix and good size. This is a great spot for picking up food for any occasion. Highly recommend!!“
“Quick pit stop on way to Bay Area from Santa Barbara! Came with a friend who lives in Slo and this is his go to for bringing guests from out of town. I got the fish and chips combo which was PLENTY of food. I loved the clam chowder since it was so creamy and had so many clams. The beer battery fish was amazing. The portion of fries was so much but was perfect for roadtrip snack. The burrito was also good, wish we tried the tri tip. The inside had alot of seating but sat outside since was such a sunny day. Was fun to watch workers season and grill in front of you. Good SLO req!“
“We started our evening intending to dine at Guiseppe's down the street but they had a two hour wait. This turned out to be the best thing that could have possibly happened since we decided to walk a bit and look at other options. We aren't big seafood people but found enough intriguing options on the menu at La Bodega to give it a try.So, just..wow. What a great meal. Service was fantastic. Wine was outstanding. We thought the food portions might be small but they actually we just fine. We had the Chorizo Empandas and darn near got into a fight over them. Then the BBB Slide, which were also raved over. The creme brulee cheesecake was good but not as good as the Whiskey in a Jar (bread pudding). All the wines were local.Serving staff could not have been better and the whole aesthetic is definitely not the tackiness I've come to associate with Pismo Beach. We expect to become regulars here.“
“There was a bit of wait to be seated but that is the first sign of good food. The quality was very good. The kids had pancakes and eggs and they loved it. We had omelette and bacon and sausage and it was all very good. The sausage was especially good. It wasn't too sweet or too much hickory flavor and just right. The seats were a little tighter fit if you are on the larger side. But still comfortable enough. It gave me a feeling of an old breakfast place which is exactly what I was looking for.“
“It's alcohol! You can't go wrong with that they have good food items on the menu. They have a few card games available & a connect 4. They have a variety of local brewed beers and their sangria is top notch. Service is good, very welcoming and attentive. You gotta check it out.“
“During our last visit to San Luis Obispo, we stayed in Pismo Beach and dropped by Steaming Bean for coffee and breakfast. It was busy but the service was excellent and although we had to wait for a short while for the food, it was also excellent. I loved the back patio and we sat out there for a while enjoying the morning. A highlight for me was seeing a Sunbeam Tiger pull into the parking lot below but the girls weren’t as impressed. They were impressed with the coffee and fun accessories for sale inside. We are definitely coming back here the next time we visit the area.Michael DelehantyCompass Real Estate“
“Had the onion rings for appetizer and they were very good…I had the fish n chips and they were so deelicious…restaurant was clean & all the servers were nice…they have a great selection of beers…the restroom was clean & even smelled “
“The service was phenomenal. Autumn was so sweet and her energy throughout our dinner service was one of a kind. The Chicken Picatta was delicious to say the least. My son enjoyed his Chocolate Lava cake which melted in his mouth. I love coming to Rosa's.“
“I come here for coffee whenever I'm in Pismo. It's right next to the parking lot by the pier and is super convenient. This place does milk art on their lattes which is a step above the rest. They're super friendly whenever I go and I have literally nothing bad to say about the place.Parking: It's right next to the paid parking lot at Pismo Pier“
“If you like seafood, this is your spot. From clam chowder, lobster rolls, fish and chips, this place has it all. They have a good amount of indoor and outdoor seating, and a whole wall of self serve beers on tap. On weekends, they do have a brunch menu available, but the standard menu is also served every day. They have two types of lobster rolls: The Original and a Jalapeno LimeWe got one of each and each roll was stuffed full of big chunks of lobster. The original was served either with drawn butter or a garlic herb mayo, but per the suggestion of the cashier, we ordered it dressed in butter with the mayo on the side. The rolls are $30 each but do come with thicc cut steak fries. You can opt to sub out the fries for house made chips if you like more of a crunch. The jalapeno lime roll was very light in flavor, and could have used more butter or a mayo to dress it up a bit. The bun was nicely buttered and toasted though, which helped. I love that it was topped with crispy fried onions for a little extra flava and crunch! If there is one dish you're going to order, make it the poke nachos. It's super saucy so some bites can be a little overwhelming. A little less sauce would make this even better, but overall, highly recommend giving it a try! The chunks of ahi tasted fresh, and I loved that they added avocado and seaweed salad. This was so refreshing over the wonton chips. I opted for the fisherman's catch so I could have a little bit of everything. This came with 1 large piece of cod fish, lots of shrimp, and a few strips of calamari over fries. This was served with tartar sauce, cocktail sauce and lemon wedges. Normally I would squeeze lemon over all my fried seafood but it didn't even need it! Idk what they do with the batter/seasoning but I love loved loved that all the fried seafood had a citrussy flavor to it already. This would be a good sized plate to share! The staff were all really nice and attentive and we loved the vibes of the outdoor seating. Midway through our meal, a guy went on the stage to play some live music, so that was a nice touch. If I'm ever back in Pismo, I'm making it a point to come back for more eats!“
“Best Chinese spot in SLO county. I've been to Fay's fusion several times. Much better than other spots around here. I'm from the Bay Area where great Chinese and Dim Sum is in abundance. I was thrilled to stumble across Fay's Fusion. They have a couple dim sum dishes which are wonderful. Their orange chicken, steam box choy, noodles and soup are delicious. And the service is fantastic. Had a couple great conversations with the staff here. Highly recommend.“
“Not busy at all when I went Friday evening, which was a total surprise considering the food was absolutely delicious! Had the rib combo. All of the sauces were great, but my personal favorite was the Sweet Carolina. The ribs are cooked to perfection, fall off the bone with just the right amount of char on the outside. Their coleslaw was the best I’ve had in a LONG time, sweet and fresh. The cornbread is fresh and just the right amount of sweet too. The fries are crispy and well seasoned, not too much, not too little. Went twice in the same night and next time I’m in town, I will be back!“
“The food was amazing! The chicken Caesar had a great crouton-chicken-lettuce ratio, I was at the end of the salad and still had croutons and chicken left for my last bites which most restaurants lack. However, what the heck kids chicken tenders? $11 for two tenders and a few fries is absurd!! Service was very quick. I went at night and there are no heaters outside even though 75% of their seating is outdoors. Came in early April so I would say bring a few extra layers if you're coming around this time and get cold easily.“
“Overall a nice place to eat and have a few drinks. Very friendly service. There are lots of beers to choose from and a large variety. Not just weird IPAs. You can have brown ale, larger, white beer, Amber and blonde beers as well. I would certainly come here again. Its location is ideal being close to the 101 and the local hotels. The price is very reasonable also.“
“We chose Marisol for dinner after stopping for a cocktail the evening before. Great views, comfortable atmosphere, but our server Jason was the main reason for the return visit. We were not disappointed and we watched the sun set from a beautiful outdoor setting.“
“My wife and I have been to Pismo Beach three times in the past four years. We have gotten ice cream / sorbet at Scoops several times and a few things are consistent. The Maui Wowie is very good. The servings are a decent size and the ice cream / sorbet is hard and firm. There is always free parking in the lot too. Prices are consistent for a tourist town. The male server, (I think he is the owner) is friendly and personable. My wife was interested in the Moose Tracks flavor and he gave her a small spoonful with a sample. My wife liked it and later bought a cup of that flavor. The female server (Asian) is less friendly and less personable. I don't know if it was the same Asian lady in prior years, but the only friendly server there is the male. I'm not saying the Asian lady is rude, but perhaps her English is not very good and she is not comfortable talking to customers. We will be back in the future because of the Maui Wowie and other choices of ice creams / sorbets. It would be an easy 5-stars if the female server was as friendly as the male.“
“Good deal for a dozen cookies at $18. We got a variety with white chocolate chip, choco chip with oats, snickerdoodle and sugar. The texture of the cookies was great with a nice and crunchy outside rim but nice and soft center- but not undercooked soft. The snickerdoodle and sugar were both pillow and delicious. Wish they put a few more white and choco chips in the cookies. Will definitely be back for great cookies!“
“Avery our server was friendly, the drinks were great, the food was fresh, hot, and tasty.Tuesday night is all you can eat Dungeness ? If you like crab it is your go to spot!Second time back to Cali since 2022. Spyglass was our go to for take out breakfast everyday! “The food is bomb . Me and wife had the red tacos and a side of beans and rice . Honestly some of the best tacos I’ve had here in Cali . A little pricey , but so worth it. Hope to return again in the future. Saludos desde Fresno. ?? you guys need to open up shop here in the Central Valley haha“
“We ate at Pequin during our stay at Vespera for Easter and everything was fabulous. I made reservations online which was very user friendly . David checked in with us a few days before to confirm our reservation. I originally made the reservation for 5, but my sister decided to join us so David said no problem to add the 6th person. We were a bit late as we were enjoying the Easter festivities of the hotel and they easily accommodated us. We were seated outside which had a decent view. The food was delicious and the portions were great! My son who is only 15 months enjoyed the huge plate of pancakes he received (he almost ate it all)!A huge shout out to David, Chelsea, Donna, and Kelsey for going above and beyond for a great dining experience for the family!“
“Great place for Boba & shaved ice. On a visit, we were introduced to the game, "Would you rather...?"Fun!! Enjoy the experience "Thank you" to the Family & Staff for the friendly "Welcome"Parking: Handicap parking available“
