First and foremost, thank you to the driver in the Nissan for paying for our food tonight. In all the craziness, it made our day. Secondly, after giving my order 4 times and even repeating my order to verify at the window, we got home and had double orders of mashed potatoes and no cole slaw. I've been in this town since 1980. I worked at the original Kentucky Fried Chicken on Cypress Ave, years ago. This is the first time since KFC reopened here. The place is awesome. The food? My parents enjoy going to KFC before a trip home over the mountain. We went yesterday, in the afternoon and service was not great. I didn't mind waiting for a chicken order to go, while my parents ate. The extra crispy would take around 15 minutes. After the time frame quoted, my parents were done eating. KFC on Lake Blvd in Redding offers tasty food, especially the extra crispy meal. The staff is friendly, efficient, and professional, with Ashley providing excellent service and Nicole quickly checking orders and assisting customers. Josephyne is also helpful and kind when making changes to orders. The restaurant appears to run like a well-oiled machine, with all staff working quickly and with a positive attitude. There is ample parking available for customers.
However, the experience can vary. The lobby was once dirty with old and cold food, but it is now cleaner. Portion sizes have shrunk significantly, which is disappointing. Some customers reported that no one helped them or informed them about order status, leading to confusion when using digital machines. Service quality was inconsistent, but the food remains decent if just craving chicken. Overall, it is the best KFC in town, and the staff makes the visit more pleasant despite occasional issues.
