I love ramen and Orenchi didn't disappoint. There were plenty of tables available during lunch on a stormy Wednesday. The soup was delicious, and so were the appetizers. I shall be back!

We came in at 5:24pm. Dinner service starts at 5:30 but the doors were open. It was awkward but they allowed to sit and we said we would simply start with drinks (2 of us) and then order in a few minutes. At 5:30 they came to us for the first and last time to take the drink orders and app orders. That would be the end of the experience. By 6:05 they had multiple tables seated and served. We hadn't even been asked about the entrees. Thank you for the amazing ramen. We had it bookmarked but made our way to Marafuku with a more welcoming atmosphere. Be back again...never.

Good ramen at reasonable prices. Different flavor style from Ramen Naji

I looked up their menu from their own website (see photo), and ordered to-go. When I came to pick it up, the prices were $4 more per bowl of large Orenchi Ramen than what was listed ($20 vs $16). I was not happy. I understand that prices have gone up during covid times, but please just update your online menu so that people do not get an unpleasant surprise when they pick up. I mentioned this to the waiter, and he was unapologetic, and did nothing. The ramen itself was fine.

We came on a Friday at 5:30pm on the dot. They had a happy hour special where you purchase one regular ramen bowl and you pay an extra $5 for appetizer or $4 for drinks. Our server was really nice and we got our food pretty fast. I definitely enjoyed my shoyu ramen. It was light and flavorful. On top of that the Kara-age was so juicy and big. It was definitely one of the better appetizer options here. Only downside is the place is located right next to a cal train so it might be a bit noisy from time to time. I would definitely come back since this is definitely one of the top 3 ramen places in my book

Pretty decent ramen place. They have very quick service so you shouldn't have to wait long after you sit down. Calamari is very crunchy and crispy. Highly recommend. I tried the orenchi Ramen which is their name ramen and I have to say it was very standard. I wouldn't say there's anything particularly special about it. Definitely drop by to try it if you are in the area. Be warned it is a bit on the pricier side.

It has been a while since I have been in the South Bay Area and when I'm always made it a point to stop by Orenchi in Santa Clara. To my surprise and show how long it has been there is now a Redwood City location that opened 5 years ago. Yeah! As with the Santa Clara location a must stop I now have bookmarked the Redwood City location as well. Staff is friendly and helpful with questions. Thank you. I ordered the new Donabe Spicy Miso ramen and worth everyone of the five stars. Packed with flavor from the tonkotsu base miso tare it was thick, creamy, and oh so good. The dish is packed with lots of toppings including a large piece of chashu, bok choy, onions, arugula, egg, and of course lots of noodles. Full just having this alone, but had to enjoy Onibi yuzu white ale and a Sapporo with it. Thanks again and now I have a new haunt when in town.

3.5 rounding to 4 for the fast and friendly service. Came for lunch, tasty ramen -- not a ton of meat (I guess per usual ramen fare). Pros: - outdoor dining - kids menu ($7-8) The food: - Shio ramen (chicken base) with chicken chasu $14.5 + $1.6 for egg + $0.70 spinach + $.80 fungus mushroom -- toppings will get your $, but they were good. Asked for less fat (less creamy) and they were able to accommodate, yay - Orenchi ramen $17 (pork base) + $1 for spicy miso. S.O enjoyed this but felt it could use more protein Overall would come back! Friendly service and quick as well

The ramen is great, but they no longer seem to do lean chashu. Also, they have a weird swastika design included on their walls.

Very spicy. Chicken ramen has little topping.

Great service, wasn't crazily crowded, and the ramen totally hit the spot. When I try a new ramen joint, I always get the shoyu ramen for some reason.. theirs was perfect- not too bland or salty. Hubs got the spicy miso and it was also really good! We'd definitely go back.

TLDR: Toppings lagged strong noodles and broth Saturday 9/10/22 ~12:00pm, $18.93 after tip ~~~~~~~~~ Orenchi Ramen ~~~~~~~~~ Final Score: 5.7/10 (7.6/10) Noodles: Upper tier noodles! Probably the strongest part of the bowl. Thick, wavy, and perfectly-cooked. The noods had a great bite, and stood up to the strong broth well. Good. (7.4/10) Broth: Cloudy, thick, salty, flavorful tonkotsu-base broth. The original. Upper tier broth. You can tell the pork bones were boiled for a long time, providing that thick and cloudy texture. The garlic bits, green onions, and oil provided a deep, complex flavor. Good. (3.3/10) Egg: Credit for including a full egg with the standard bowl. It's becoming too common that ramen shops charge ala-carte for this essential topping. The egg itself was high quality (bright orange yolk) but the flavor was lacking. There was a faint seasoned, salty flavor; but no distinct marinade flavor. The yolk was mostly curdled, lacking the optimal jelly texture. (3.2/10) Meat: A single, large, relatively thick, piece of rolled pork belly with some detectable flame-char on the edges. The fat/meat ratio was fine. The meaty parts weren't as tender as I expected. The meat was seasoned, but any marinade flavor was too mild to detect. The chashu should take a dip in the kakuni broth. (4.1/10) Misc Topping: Standard bamboo shoots, kikurage, nori, green onion toppings. The bamboo shoots had that straight-out-of-the-can sweetness/texture. Everything else was average. (4.9/10) Other: The noods + broth combo was very strong, but the toppings were underwhelming. Subbing the chashu for the` kakuni may help along with getting a better egg from the batch. *Weighted Scoring Formula: Noodles (25%), Broth (25%), Egg (15%), Meat (15%), Misc Top. (10%), Other (10%) Other: Bathrooms: Single gender neutral bathroom. Parking:Downtown Redwood City parking. $1 per hour, free after 6. Service: Great service. Food arrived fast. Efficient. Good

I have been to the Santa Clara location and first time coming to the Redwood City location because there is no wait time for a party of seven for dinner. We ordered the chicken wings, calamari legs, and chicken karraage for appetizers, all of them were good. I ordered the Orenchi ramen (Tonkasu pork broth) and sampled tried my husband's Shoyu ramen. I love their tamago (soft boil egg). But their noodle and broth could have been better. I do love more when the ramen restaurant makes their noodle in house rather than the packaged noodles. The broth was not as flavorful (though thick) as I'd love it. I Overall it is still a pretty good place for ramen and appetizers. My expectation for Orenchi is high. I need an amazing bowl of ramen that every bite is pure pleasure. Maybe will try another place next time while I have the time to wait. Best part is no wait time this time as we went to a different ramen first and wait time is one hour +, so a trade off.

I always read ramen reviews claiming that Orenchi had the creamiest tonkotsu broth. A few of us came here for dinner still slightly full from lunch, so we were nervous about heavy this would be. The broth turned out to be well balanced and I was happy with how it was lighter than expected. Spicy Karaage (3pc): The karaage definitely had a kick to it, but there wasn't as much flavor in the sauce as I was hoping. Orenchi Ramen: This is their signature ramen and the broth was significantly lighter than expected. It had a rich flavor though and was well balanced with the components in it. The pork was not the melt in your mouth kind though and on the drier side. Spicy Miso Ramen: My favorite dish that we got! It comes out super hot since it's in a clay pot and the soup was really flavorful. I loved the balance of all the veggies. Orenchi Tsukumen: I thought this was good, but the meat was also dry here. I was expecting the soup to be pretty salty because it's a dipping broth, but it really wasn't. You could easily just pour the whole bowl of soup into the dish. Overall, Orenchi is a super solid ramen place. It's not my favorite, but it does do broths really, really well, as well as the balance of flavors with toppings.
