After a nearly five-year lapse, I visited Waffle Square, located on Harding Ave., shortly after the morning opening time of 0700. I came in for the current weekday special, which is "Steak and Eggs" for $6.99. I'm a lover of breakfast, and I rarely resist a bargain. As you walk in the restaurant, there is a small souvenir area, complete with a machine with a claw that will allow you to grab a stuffed animal, as you feed the beast with quarters. pretty run down place, decorated with faded 50-60s newspaper clips. Food was not that great. turkey sandwich was on cheap thin bread, veggie soup was bland. waffle had too much baking soda or powder. I would go to the other waffle places.
