“Love that this place has plenty of sweet and savory options! There will always be a line, it just depends on your timing but it goes by fast. Their foods are a great and tasty quick bite! Prices did go up, but with the economy and inflation, it's still cheap and totally worth it!“

“This is your hole in the wall good dim sum. It's on cheaper side compared to well season or the pearl but just as good. The restaurant is big so the wait has never been too long and they could accommodate large parties. It helps if you spoke Cantonese but they also speak English. Food came out pretty quickly for us so that was big plus for me.“

“I came over via bus on the way back home from university, decided to drop by to eat the lunch special with Mongolian beef and chow mien. Bill came out to twenty (fifteen with the special + hot tea, five dollar tip). The beef and chow mien were alright, they were nothing special but there was an degree of flavor with the way the sauce and chili coated the beef and kneaded in with the (meatless) chow mien section. At the time of my visit, this place has the hallmarks of an 1980s holdover Chinese restaurant joint, with paper posters, gold-leaf printed olive carpet, plastic ivy, and those good ol, chunky chopsticks, cool natural lighting and ceramic plates.“

“Been going here since I was a kid 80s 90s and now. Never disappoints.
I strongly recommend the honey walnut prawns lunch.
Comes with the soup of the day and a egg roll nice and hot and crispy

“My friend told me that the New China Restaurant in the Pocket Area is under new management, and they have new menus and new chefs. We decided to have our dinner there last night.I found out they have a new sign at the front door, and the dining room is completely remodeled. The dining room is brand new and comfortable. They have new menus, including many Hong Kong-style yummy dishes and drinks. Some sections listed are coming soon. I can't wait to see more delicious items added to their menu in the near future. All the dishes we get are so good, and we have excellent services. New China is my favorite restaurant in Sacramento now!
Parking: They have more parking space in the parking lot with a short walk if the parking in front of the restaurant is full.
Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is wheelchair friendly“

“I think they have the best chow mein in town. And they make really good hamburgers (and perfect fries) for less than any of our local chain store/fast food places.Their broccoli beef is super yummy too. So to their fried rice. I haven't tried much else from their extensive menu but I suppose I should because I like all their food that I have tried. I am also very sensitive to MSG and have never ever gotten a headache after eating their food; and I react quickly and painfully to even a trace of that stuff in my food.
This is a take-out location. There is no seating for eating there, but they are fast with any order. Call your order in and it'll be ready when you get there.“

“It will not scream at you, "I am good!" You will have to taste the subtle authentic quality of this food. Same recipes, no cutbacks, after 30+ years at rock bottom prices. Noodle dishes are only $12! It is not "California" Chinese food (spicy, sweet). Mandarin and Cantonese rely more on the flavor of the meat and seafood itself, not tons of spicy sauces.“

“The dim sum is delicious and there are many varieties of dim sum. The service is also very good and the manager and waiters are very friendly too. The place is very big, it should be good to have a party~“

“Came here for dim sum because we were in the area. Selection was really limited and the carts weren’t coming around as often as I would have expected. Food itself was fine but it wouldn’t be my top choice for dim sum in Sacramento. A bit disappointed with the overall options to choose from. Staff was nice“

“My family usually has dinners at New Hong Kong Wok all the time, but we stopped coming here after their food and service went downhill a few years ago. This is my first time returning to New Hong Kong Wok after many years. I found out that both their food quality and customer service have improved. I enjoyed my dinner here once again! I know I'll come back more often now.
Vegetarian options: A lot of vegetable dishes are available on the menu
Parking: Both street parking and a parking lot are available, but the shopping is super busy, and parking is harder to find.
Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is wheelchair accessible“

“If you’re looking for authentic Chinese food and restaurant, then this is the place for you. Service was great! Very attentive and quick. Lots of options to choose from. Food was very good too. Will definitely be back. Lots of parking available too.“
