Four of us enjoyed a wonderful experience last night at Moxie. From the crab appetizer to the mouthwatering desserts, the evening was fantastic. The host, the service, the generous portions of food, and the atmosphere were glorious! The presentation of each course was amazingly prepared. If you want a special night out, Moxie is the place to go!Parking: Going early there was no problem on the street near the restaurant.
My wife and I loved the atmosphere, candle light, romantic. Awesome service, attentive. The food was phenomenal. Definitely going back.

We went for our Anniversary and it was truly one if the best meals we've ever had! The crab cakes melted in my mouth and the surf and turf was amazing. My husband had the swordfish and it was so fresh and beautifully cooked. Top it off with a fantastic bottle of wine and it was perfection! Felt like family was serving us- felt welcome the minute we walked in the door. We can't wait to go back!

One of our favorite spots for special occasions, we always look forward to a night at Moxie. Made a reservation over the phone personally with Adam for 730 tonight only to find we "weren't on the list" when we arrived. We stood at the bar as people scurried around us. Low and behold, Governor Newson and his family walked in right behind us and of course were promptly seated. Not too long after, another couple came in and apparently suffering the same fate as us, and sat at the bar. We asked again about our reservations and again were told we "weren't on the list". A mistake? I think not. We left very dissappointed.

A moment of opportunity. Don't let it pass you by. One of Sacramento's genuine Gem's. Over 35 year's Adam has given all the best a person can expect in a dining experience as an owner operater. One of the few places left here, where you feel a sense of pride, dedication, and true comfort in the local neighborhood. Nothing last forever. P.S. Love the hand written receipts. How cool is that!

Very cute restaurant with nice, cozy ambience and great service. Unfortunately the food is not up to par with ratings, expectations and cost.We had a crab cake appetizer which was quite good, but my chicken parm was average and the marinara sauce on the penne was all tang and no taste-- saltless.Her special seafood pasta was also extremely bland sadly, despite all the generous hunks of fish in it.Sorry guys, we really wanted to like it here, but the food wasn't up to par. Also my Manhattan was really quite watery and bad. You're not supposed to shake it. Anyway, I feel bad about the review because I like the people and restaurant, but it just wasn't good enough.I'll leave it on a positive note, which is their wine list is very reasonably priced. Perhaps wine and an appetizer is the way to go here.

This place impresses time and time again. Adam is an amazing host and is personable and engaging. I have had everything from lamb to fish to steak here and everything has been delicious and prepared beautifully. This is one of my wife and I'd favorite restaurants in Sacramento. I cannot reckoned it enough!

I went with my partner for our anniversary. The service was kind and prompt. Our server, who I presume is the owner, came and took our order while offering jokes and positive vibes help making it feel intimate and homey. The physical menu is small, but there is a large specials menu that is verbally spoken. Additionally, they offer "anything you can find nearby we'll get it".We got a mushroom appetizer off the menu, a pasta special, a salmon special, a bottle of red wine and a chocolate mousse cake for dessert. Every meal was scrumptious and had us wanting more.This restaurant feels like a hole in the wall, but don't be fooled as it's marvelous!Vegetarian options: There are few vegetarian options, but if requested a larger set of options becomes available.

The owner Adam is a true artist and so charming. He makes you feel like family. I will definitely be making this my go to place for dining out and be recommending it to all my family and friends.
