When someone told me about this wonderful place, I made sure I went to visit as soon as I was able. I love fresh fish, and especially I was looking for fresh oysters. 6 oysters right now can cost as much as $35. We purchased two dozen, plus a shucking knife, and our bill was $38. It seems like there is no need for general consumers to visit. Parking is only for 4 or 5 cars, and the area is filled with the smell of fish. Still, it seems like an important store because it is almost the only wholesale fish market in Sacramento.
Everyone says “sushi grade” is an arbitrary term that refers more to a freezing point than actual freshness. Having been here multiple times, I think the fish is a cut above everywhere else in Sac (for the price). The first time I shopped at Sunh, I even got a discount for grabbing a whole salmon fillet, so it didn’t break the bank when I was just learning how to make sushi at home. Now this is my go-to any time we have a craving. Def worth the visit.
