We had an amazing dinner here tonight. It was a busy Friday evening, but the manager found us a place to sit at the bar within about 10 minutes, and apologized for the wait (which was totally unnecessary). I had the surf and turf daily special and my wife had the filet medallions. We shared the butterscotch pudding for dessert, which I would highly recommend. Market Restaurant is a wonderful spot in the middle of historic St Helena. The place is stunning and has such charm. The food is fresh and prepared just-so. Service is amazing and top notch. Alfie was fantastic, full of energy, friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. The tortellini and the meatloaf were excellent. The Mac and cheese and chicken Parmesan was heavenly. The butterscotch pudding is a must have and delicious and not too sweet. The tiger prawns and fish n chips were both great. The special lobster pasta in Alfredo sauce was delicious. Prices are premium but worth it for the location and quality. Recommend to make a reservation. Definitely an enjoyable experience.
