Prager Winery & Port Works Reviews
If you want to know what Napa was like BEFORE the corporate revolution, come visit this great winery and port works. We had the honor to have all three brothers there to tell us history, port stories and more. Lovely place. This is not a hotel.
The #1 winery visit while here.
Family run winery with the best tasting.
Family run winery with the best tasting.
We first discovered Prager ports about 35 years ago and have been hooked on their ports since then. They continue to evolve and have several magnificent ports. The family tradition continues to be a lesser known but hidden gym of a winery. If you like ports, you have to visit Prager. They are the best and rival any Portuguese ports.

Nestled in beautiful grounds, this cozy and unpretentious winery provides an excellent port wine tasting experience. Visitors are welcomed as walk-ins and can enjoy a variety of port wines, with knowledgeable staff like Jeff and Peter ensuring friendly service. The family-made snacks are delicious, and guests can enjoy cigars outside on the property. The tasting includes food samples that pair wonderfully with their ports, and the staff’s warmth and patience make the experience memorable. Customers often add to a wall of notes left by visitors from many countries, showing the global appreciation for this place. The high alcohol content of port wine makes the servings feel just right, despite some concerns about quantity. The Royal Escort port is highly recommended, and the dark chocolates made on-site, including a divine gel from tawny port, are a highlight.
