There's nothing my family and I don't love about this place! Jessie and her family are wonderful! I suggest the spicy miso ramen or the beef shoguyaki! It's fantastic!

Excellent hibachi, very entertaining. And a very good medley of vegetables to go with everything. Highly recommended!

They demanded a tip from me, that's what I didn't like. I think that nowhere do they have to force you?.
But the good food is worth it

We ordered a Love for Two Sushi & Sashimi Boat. To be honest, the sashimis were not fresh at all. You can clearly tell they are just defrosted. It took a long time to serve the boat. A baby girl was running behind the receptionist table and in the kitchen and had fallen and cried. Letting a baby girl running around the kitchen area is very dangerous and unprofessional. We won’t visit this restaurant again. Oh, they charge you $3+ for a hot tea( a Lipton tea bag in a paper bottle …)

For Father's day my wife treated me & our 2 sons here, we were welcomed as soon as we walked in and atmosphere was ok. But the young lady hostess was friendly, and our waiter was very cordial. Sorry to say but did not take pics although the food was just okay, the only things that stood out were the tempura items like the shrimp & veggies, the teriyaki steak was ok, the seafood soup was ok, the teriyaki shrimp was plentiful for our little one, and the fried rice and noodles were ok. For as long as this place looks like it's been in business I firmly believe that they could have done a better job of keeping this place clean, the vents looked dirty I noticed a small spider making it's way from an occupied booth to the ceiling. Tables and booth looked half decent. Like I said the place could use a thorough cleaning, from the ceiling, to the walls and definitely the seats and table.. they did offer free dessert for Father's day.. I chose the green tea ice cream which was good n the tempura bananas which were awesome.. so for the four of us the total amount was over one hundred & seventy dollars ??♂️. At least I got a free dessert.. hibachi looked good, but the tables were kind of too small and crowded. I would seriously think about coming here in a regular basis, if anything we really wanted to eat somewhere else not far from here but the place was packed.. if you can guess it's all you can eat. ?

Angel roll was decent. The packers roll was not it, 3 different people tried it and not one of us liked it. Tasted like old fish. Couldn't eat that roll. The ramen was flavorless. The "service fee" was included in the bill.

You need to either choose to eat sushi or other dishes, as there address two separate areas to be seated. Wild partying kids on one side. Food is decent and so is service.
Vegetarian options: Some options.
Parking: Narrow parking lot with only one egress.

We did the hibachi. Great ambiance, great food. A tad expensive.Recommend the restaurant folks to not start cleaning the pan before the customers have left the table.

Fujiyama is great spot to dine at if you’re looking to go out with the family. From the moment we stepped through the door, the attentive and accommodating staff made us feel right at home. The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the captivating show put on during the cooking process. The anime-themed presentation, particularly the homage to Naruto when lighting the onion on fire, was a hit with both kids and adults alike. The chefs ensured active participation from the customers throughout, adding to the interactive and immersive experience. As for the food, it surpassed all expectations. Each dish was bursting with flavor, leaving us completely satisfied by the end of our meal. The portion sizes were generous, ensuring that even the heartiest appetites were thoroughly satiated. If you find yourself in Salinas, I highly recommend making a stop at Fujiyama.

I was stopping through Salinas and got takeout at Fujiyama. The portions were quite small and the tuna wasn’t as great as I had hoped. One of the rolls I got was labeled spicy but it really wasn’t.
Unfortunately I will not return to this restaurant. I wanted to support local businesses so i googled and found Fuyijama served sushi. I ordered a shrimp tempura roll, spicy tuna roll, and salmon hand roll. I asked the waitress if the hand roll also included avocado and cucumber slice, which she said it did. Well the rolls were incredibly small and the hand roll did not include the avocado and cucumber i was told. The order was also pricey, but i figured I'd get quality and well proportion sized rolls, but not the case. The service was friendly, so give stars for that. Hope there's some positive change @Fuyijama that comes from this review or at best, informative perspective for potential clientele.
