The wings were your typical frozen out of the bag but the carne asada tacos were delicious. Drinks were delish. DJ played great music. Thomas our waiter was on point and a great help with providing us with places to go in the area during our stay.
We arrived for our reservation and the sign near the tables said “wait to be seated”. No one ever came over to seat us. We sat at a table for a few moments and no one came over to give us menus. We moved to the bar and we were ignored there. A patron at the bar gave us one of his menus to look at. The menu did not match what we had seen on line. After a few moments of being ignored we got up and left.
I am a local and my boyfriend and I come to Margaritaville regularly for staycations. (5 times since the spring) I finally a writing this review because of the exceptional service we receive every single time from both Shayla and Damien who work at the rooftop bar. They remembered us by name after the very first visit, are so accommodating and both very hard workers, attentive and polite- rare for young people these days- especially in hospitality. Shayla always makes sure we are taken care of and is sweet and personable and Damien is always on his grind! Always moving! He takes his job seriously and has great energy. Both of them are always one step ahead which is exactly how you should be in the service industry. It’s not an easy job! I’ve also witnessed them both deal with difficult guests with professionalism and grace. They both deserve props for their efforts!
Shockingly horrendous margaritas at this Margaritaville location. It was almost impressive a national chain named after this very drink could be so terrible. It tasted like old sour mix and hose water that was shaken in a shoe. I can’t stop thinking about this margarita and the fact that it was from a place called Margaritaville. We had two rounds as well just to be sure it wasn’t a bad batch. Nope. Additionally - the salsa tasted like straight up tomato paste. And even more confusing - they didn’t have Landshark? I love Jimmy buffet and may he rest in power but this bar is doing him and the reputation of margaritas DIRTY.

We came to Margaritaville to celebrate an engagement, and it turned into an unforgettable night — thanks in large part to Thomas, our incredible server. Not only was he kind, attentive, and full of positive energy throughout our meal, but he truly went above and beyond when the bride-to-be accidentally lost her phone. While we were all frantically searching, Thomas took it upon himself to help — and he found it! In the middle of a busy evening, he remained calm, helpful, and genuinely caring. He didn’t just serve our table — he saved the day and gave us a story we’ll never forget. Thank you, Thomas, for your amazing service and for being the kind of person who makes special occasions even more meaningful. You’re a gem, and Margaritaville is lucky to have you!
Thomas is amazing! Hands down the best service I’ve ever received. He’s professional, attentive, and goes above and beyond every time. Highly recommend!
Last night we met with friends to check out Margaritaville’s rooftop bar. We are local San Diego urbanites, and my husband had wanted to see what the hype was about.
The first thing we did was sit in a grouping of aiderondack chairs, but we saw no servers. We moved to another, more comfortable grouping of seats, and a server came over to tell us that if you sat in these seats, you had to go order at the bar. She said if we had stayed in the other seats, she could have served us. Ok, fine.
Then the band, who had been between songs, began to play some Steely Dan song. SO LOUDLY that we had to shout across the table to be heard. We make our way to the bar, where we ask for a drink menu. We settle on $16 rum drink (Coco something)that was very pretty, but turned out to be about 85% ice. So now I’m feeling like this place is an overrated tourist trap with a meh view, at best.
Then a drunk young girl with a winged backpack(it was during ComicCon) comes up to us and starts telling us to get up and dance. She was quite persistent, so the second time she came over, I firmly stated that we were here to relax with friends and to please leave us in peace. She mumbled something about my being mean, but by that time I was completely fed up with this place. As we were leaving, I saw a guy with a blue and gold macaw 🦜 on his shoulder, which made me smile… the ONE bright spot of the evening.

The main reason I give it 3-stars is because the food was not great. I expected more and it tasted megh, plus no spicy sauce. The drinks though were good!

I had the mushroom tacos and my boyfriend had a salad. Both were delicious and super recommended. Our server was exceptionally friendly and attentive. We're definitely coming back!
Stopped by for a drink and appetizer. Very quiet little place. It was a bit chilly but they have heaters at every table.

Found this gem 2 hours before a Padre's game & found it amazing! The "secret" elevator needed to enter added to the positive vibes. Great food, vast drink menu, and views to die for... All wait staff were extremely helpful and friendly. I will return with a larger party next time.
Came here on my Irish4ADay party hop this weekend--it was a great time!! I enjoyed my welcome margarita and the vibes were perfect! The staff were so friendly and the view was great from the rooftop! Will definitely be back :)

We stayed at the hotel and spent time poolside and for happy hour drinks. Daimen, our server, was fantastic. The Grand Margarita was delicious and so was the key lime pie!
