When I lived in North Park/Kensington, we got take out from here at least once a month. We moved to North County and miss it. It's by far the best barbecue in San Diego hands down. We had a party two years ago and had them cater it. It was inexpensive and we had the happiest guests ever. We always got the pork ribs, sausage, greens and beans. And an order of hushpuppies. So good!

Before there was Phil's, there was Huffman's. It was considered "the best" BBQ in San Diego when I attended SDSU. At the time, it didn't seem like there were too many of my fellow college students willing to make the trek into central San Diego to see what "real" BBQ was all about. I remember enjoying the "Rib Sandwich," which was about four pork ribs and two pieces of white bread on the side. I moved to LA for 22 years and decided to look this place up again after I got back....read full review
