if you go during happy hour it's the most affordable pizza I've had in SD, along with it being very close to the best pizza I've had. The crust was phenomenal although there isn't a lot of cheese on the pizza and the sauce is a little thin. Still very highly recommend going during happy hour. A 12” pizza was less costly than the wine!

This place rocks. It's not cheap, but the food is fantastic, the wine list as well. Excellent recipes, a broad spectrum of different flavors available on each of the submenus, something for everyone here. Ask for Alex - he's as hospitable and upbeat as anyone you'll ever meet in a restaurant dining room. After last night's meal, my wife and I agreed that we don't eat here enough...

Excellent meal while in San Diego. We went to dinner following a Padres game and enjoyed pasta and pizza. The food is very fresh and authentic. Service was great too.

It was our first time dining here. We loved that outside was dog friendly. The food was wonderful, we has flank steak and lasagna. Both very tasty. And their Little Italy take on a Manhattan was wonderful. If it wasn't for all the passerby peeps it was was perfect.
Had dinner on a Saturday night, good atmosphere. Not too busy, fast service. We had 2 pizzas and the Brussels sprouts, both were really good, and 2 drinks.

Pizza was mediocre, good crust but sauce was runny and toppings had an odd aftertaste. It looks fantastic , but doesn't live up to appearance. Service was terrible, not busy at all but was ignored for several minutes by the hostess, ignored for much longer by the bartender, moments from walking out when I was finally served. Cocktail (Margarita) was good, but small (think whiskey glass). Will not return.

Tip #2: (When I posted this in Sept 2024) they have Take Out Tuesday Specials - 2 pizzas for $25 AND Wednesdays 50% off bottles of wine.
I went there for happy hour. The wood-fired pizzas were SO good with the beautiful black bubbly crust edges. you can taste the ingredients are super fresh.
also tried the bruschetta with Prosciutto (2 small slices that both fit in your palm) but stacked with ingredients, and the beet salad.
Isola has a cozy vibe, and you can even see the wood-fired oven, which is really cool. staff was less attentive when we were outside. Idk if that's because we ordered happy hour. Who knows. If you’re looking for a place to eat great pizza & food, this is the spot definitely worth trying!!

Fantastic neopolitan style pizza in Little Italy. The atmosphere in the restaurant or on the streatery is wonderful, complete with folks speaking Italian. Food is superb, and don't sleep on the wines from the family vineyard back in Italy. Homemade Gelato was impressive as well. Highly recommended.
