Amidst the many options in Little Italy, Isola is a standout. You can't go wrong with their authentic pasta dishes, which taste like they were made with the love and care only a Nonna would be capable of crafting. We chose to sit outside, 2 of the 4 outdoor heaters were not working. But the hostess kindly moved us closer to a functional one as soon as it was available. The serving assistants were great and even offered to take pictures for us. I appreciate their attentiveness and care. Overall this is a must try. While they may be a little short staffed with servers, you can't have a bad meal here. The food and atmosphere won't disappoint.

Had a great dinner here on a Sunday evening. Food was delicious, you HAVE to try a pizza, and the service was fantastic 10/10. The ambiance is was a miss. They only had 1 single working toilet for the entire restaurant, not ideal. Also they kept allowing young kids off the street inside the restaurant selling these scammy chocolate bars. Our meal was interrupted 4 times, these kids were persistent and wouldn't just take NO for an answer and leave.

Unfortunately restaurant was slammed and they took more reservations than they were able to accommodate. Food was good, however the online menu is outdated and prices have gone up on most items, which is a bit misleading from the online menu prices.

Great rustic authentic margherita DOP V pizza and a bold and flavorful Ligurian anchovy pizza! Service was excellent - Alex was a very attentive, friendly and overall excellent waiter.

The mussels were fresh and flavorful, the penne pasta was perfectly cooked with rich, balanced seasoning, and the pizza picante had the perfect kick, crispy, spicy, and full of flavor. Everything was delicious. Can't wait to come back!

if you go during happy hour it's the most affordable pizza I've had in SD, along with it being very close to the best pizza I've had. The crust was phenomenal although there isn't a lot of cheese on the pizza and the sauce is a little thin. Still very highly recommend going during happy hour. A 12” pizza was less costly than the wine!

This place rocks. It's not cheap, but the food is fantastic, the wine list as well. Excellent recipes, a broad spectrum of different flavors available on each of the submenus, something for everyone here. Ask for Alex - he's as hospitable and upbeat as anyone you'll ever meet in a restaurant dining room. After last night's meal, my wife and I agreed that we don't eat here enough...

Excellent meal while in San Diego. We went to dinner following a Padres game and enjoyed pasta and pizza. The food is very fresh and authentic. Service was great too.

It was our first time dining here. We loved that outside was dog friendly. The food was wonderful, we has flank steak and lasagna. Both very tasty. And their Little Italy take on a Manhattan was wonderful. If it wasn't for all the passerby peeps it was was perfect.

If you go hair stick with the basics, the pizza is good and the lasagna, but stay away from the meat. It is subpar and prepared terribly, there were veins going through my steak and two of us that ordered steak, the temperatures were completely overcooked and well done. Our server never came back to check and see how our meal was at any point in our dining experience and when he presented the check automatically selected the 20% box for us. We won't be back, we are local, but they treated us as if they didn't care if we returned.
