Komatsuya is a quaint and intimate go-to spot with excellent service, friendly wait staff and chefs, and a great sake selection. The restaurant accommodates dietary restrictions and offers a wonderful Kaiseki experience at a comparable price. The food is excellent but pricey, with classic straightforward sushi and nigiri, including salmon, chutoro, and amaebi. The chicken karaage is also excellent, with a nice crispy light batter and juicy meat. A recent seared amberjack special stood out as a favorite. Other dishes like udon noodles, tofu, cucumber salad, and edamame are delicious. The environment is very nice, and the service is perfect, making it a pleasant surprise for travelers. While the quality of the nigiri/fish may vary, the food is generally amazing and worth the splurge.
