I’ve been going to lestats since I was just a child really. I haven’t been since 2018 maybe when we moved. But I can tell you I’ve known horrible humans in my life not by choice. But fate led me to John a sweet gay man who ran a 24/7 coffee house. And I’ve loved coffee since age 5. When times were hard a lonely girl could get a hot cup of coffee and use the wifi even and hang out. John took in many of us. I was one of the pre 98-2006 post crew that practically lived here....read full review
Staff were very unfriendly. Latte was lukewarm when asked for it to be heated barista looked at me like I was a roach and informed me that it would be unsanitary to do so. Had my foot resting on a chair while drinking my lukewarm drink and the cashier told me to get my feet off of the furniture. Nothing to terrible but enough to where I was uncomfortable and won’t come back. There are 5 other coffee shops in walking distance.
☕️🙂👍 Matt does a great job!

Lestat's Hillcrest is a versatile study and work spot with ample seating and charging stations available until midnight. The atmosphere is pleasant and relaxed, making it a great place for college students and anyone looking to enjoy some coffee while working or reading. The California breakfast sandwich with pesto was well-received, adding to the menu's charm. The downstairs area has a restaurant vibe with lots of tables, while the upstairs features a unique Egyptian theme, spacious settings, and a cozy little room for quiet moments. The friendly staff have consistently provided good service, although there may be times when it can be slow due to limited staff.
The decor is appreciated by visitors, and the space offers a relaxed environment perfect for using a computer or reading. The coffee is really good, and there are clearly marked vegan desserts, including tea cookies and cupcakes—one of the best many have tasted. Vegan options like vegan sausage and avocado sandwiches are available, along with sweets such as vegan coconut macaroons. The place stays open pretty late, which is a plus. There is a poster board area by the door for community events, making it a hub for meetups and casual visits.
Parking can be a challenge, often requiring a walk of several blocks, especially at night. Visiting during the day or going with someone is advisable for safety. Despite parking issues, Lestat's Hillcrest remains a popular spot known for its good coffee, eclectic decor, and inviting atmosphere.
