Over the years San Diego has had exactly three good bagel places, Marigold is the fourth and arguably the best yet. Their bagels provide the perfect chew. The flavored offerings strike the perfect balance been texture and taste. Naturally such a well structured bagel is the perfect vehicle for toppings both hot and cold. Having made the jump from pop-up order phenomenon to what is now a well run shop, I highly recommend you eat here often.

This place is a gem! I’ve been following them since they started at farmers markets and it’s awesome to see how they’ve come into their own with the location in North Park. The owner is passionate about bagels and good service. Recently I had some friction with an order and he made it right immediately. That’s not so common these days! Can’t recommend highly enough.

Marigold Bagels is one of the few truly good bagel places in San Diego, arguably the best yet. Their bagels provide the perfect chew, with flavored offerings striking the perfect balance between texture and taste. The bagel is a perfect vehicle for toppings both hot and cold. The shop has made the jump from pop-up order phenomenon to a well-run location in North Park. The owner is passionate about bagels and good service. A bacon, egg, and cheese bagel passes the test with ease, holding up to hot, melty ingredients without fillings falling out, with gooey American cheese. The price is worth it, resemblant of a Lox Bagel sandwich from NYC, with plenty of salmon and great nova lox. Everything is fresh. The bagel itself might be just a tad bit too chewy for some. Yummy East Coast inspired bagels with artisan level flare. Flavors really took people back home to NY, like the Whitefish on a Zatar bagel (Greenpoint) and the Salmon on an everything bagel with chive and onion shmear (Crown Heights). There’s usually a line but it moves quickly. Seating is limited, not great for large groups. The patio is enjoyable, with friendly and welcoming service.
