About Nobu San Diego

Nobu San Diego offers good service in a lively location, although the noise levels can make conversations difficult. The food is wonderful, especially the miso black cod and sushi, which are praised for their excellent quality and great taste. The portions are small for the price, but many customers feel it is worth the money. The ambience is beautiful, but some suggest it may need a refresh to better match expectations. The menu features a wide variety of items, providing options for both those who prefer simplicity and adventurous diners. The staff consistently makes guests feel welcomed and well taken care of, with standout service from team members who go above and beyond. The food experience remains excellent, with many enjoying dishes like Nigiri, Maki, and wagyu tacos, which are flavorful and worth the splurge. The signature watermelon and herb cocktail is also highly praised. While the restaurant is lively and noisy, it remains a popular choice for those attending nearby events. Overall, Nobu San Diego delivers great food, good service, and a beautiful ambience, though improvements in noise levels and possibly expanding the cocktail menu could enhance the experience further.

Where do we begin?? First of all Joey was AMAZING! He gave us an experience. He was so very educated about every dish and recommended some interesting and unique dishes. This was not merely eating, this was dining. We will be back to try some others! The banana dessert was so yummy!
This Nobu is one of the few with Tanoshi Hour from Monday through Sunday from 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM which is their version of happy hour. Things were pretty significantly discounted and there were quite a few options. It was a great option if you want to try Nobu but not fully commit. The food wasn’t especially memorable but I had never been so it was fun to try.
After hearing so much about this place, we had to come check it out. We made a reservation for 530pm on a Friday and we're seated promptly. The place filled up really quickly. We ordered shrimp tempura/spicy tuna rolls, yellowtail jalapeno, bluefin Nigiri, ceviche and cauliflower. The fish was super fresh and rolls were delicious. Our waiter Daniel was great.
