Oggi’s Sports | Brewhouse | Pizza, DEL MAR

I ordered a few orders of sliders for a potluck, 2 hours in advance, then called them when I was 30 minutes away to ensure they were making them. When I got there - they still didn’t have my order prepared and hadn’t even started on it, and blamed their Toast system. I never got them and had to leave without them. Very unprofessional and will never order from this place again.

Service so nice, we had to do it twice!!!
They were able to sit a party of 25 with a 15 minute notice.
Treated us so well, and the food was so great that we decided to go back and do it again.!
Fantastic service. Amazing food. Thirst quenching drinks.
There is nothing Bogey's about Oggi's!!

We came in last night around 745pm with a group of 9 for dinner. We got seated a little after 8. Which was great.

It was all downhill after that. We didn't get to order our drink for another 30mins..then another 30 mins to get the drinks..then another another 15mins to get our apps
.and then finally our dinner came out around 930....and they close at 10...

The waitress was great. She did her best but it appeared she was covering the entire place. I don't know if they were understaffed or if this is normal for them. But regardless, this was not a good experience.

The food was good but nothing to overcome the slowness.

I feel bad for the waitress. She had a tough job last night.

I doubt I will come back to this place. Hopefully our experience was a one-off but I have no frame of reference to know either way. Maybe there was an employee emergency that caused the staff shortage and so I don't want to pass judgement on the ownership either.

I just wanted to pass on our experience.

This is our second time here. What we love is the televised sports. The cleanliness passes, but the menus on the table and what we received from the waitress were sticky. I made a mental note to use utensils rather than my fingers to eat.
Our waitress disappeared for a long time after delivering drinks and menus. We had to go find her to order our meal.
I ordered the southwestern salad which was okay. The dressing had a strong taste of nutmeg? I could be wrong but—it was a strong NO for me. I ate it dry and left over half on the plate.
My husband ordered the beef sliders. He shrugged his shoulders when I asked how they tasted.
All in all-it kinda passes. Not great, just okay.

We checked out Oggi's Sports recently after soccer tournament and it was pretty good! The highlight of the meal was definitely the wings—they absolutely hit the spot. They came out nice and hot, packed with flavor, and perfectly cooked. We also ordered a mix of other items. The Alfredo pasta was ok, and the buffalo cauliflower was good for the appetizer.

Came with a large party which while I understand can be a stressful time for a restaurant to handle at times, the service was awful as there seems to only be one server for a full restaurant.

I get the job can be stressful and especially being the only one on the job, but for the server to make faces of disgust in front of us along with eye rolls is something you should not be doing in front of customers, flat out. However, I put most of the blame on the management of the place, as management is doing a terrible job finding spots to fill and/or refuses to close down when there’s too little people to serve. Unless the server is also the manager, they were put under a stressful environment and spot that anyone would understandably be upset in, and they did improve their mood as the restaurant cleared up so this is good to see. They need to hire a lot more people, close up when there’s full parties, do something, this can not be a thing that happens when the place gets full as restaurants do all the time. Had I not been with a party of people, this experience would have immediately turned me away before I could eat. Maybe on a less busy day, the experience here is better.

Food was good though, no complaints there.

Edit: Editing due to reply by the restaurant. I do find it personally amusing how they reply to every negative review with a “Nuh uh, you’re lying” or a passive aggressive tone, management clearly has trouble taking criticism. Beyond blaming San Diego voters for supporting a reasonable minimum wage, (have you seen the cost of living in SoCal?), their excuse that workers drop makes sense when you are down a couple people, but to be down to 1 (again, 1) person for an entire restaurant is something I have never seen before even on busy days across my time going out. Clearly something is up and my guess is management can’t manage to pay their employees above minimum wage (funny how that’s their complaint) and no one wants to work for them as a result. Moving the review down to 1 star as a result.

Vivian the host was amazing, she was willing to help and try to accommodate our group but our waitress was terribly! She was angry all the time

We went there to watch the football game. The food was fantastic, there were plenty of screens to watch the game from anywhere in the restaurant and the drinks were great. Had a spicy Margarita, highly recommend.

I love the Oggi’s pizza sticks. They are my favorite take out food by far. The service is quick, and the pizza strips are my favorite. Oggi’s is my favorite.
