There was no cover charge when we visited. The live band was great. Bar service was a bit backed up (one person working). I would visit again since the vibe and drinks were good.

Behind a door marked “Eddie O’Hare’s Law Office,” is a hidden gem in the Gaslamp District. Prohibition Lounge delivers the true speakeasy vibe. The dim lighting, vintage décor, and exceptional craft cocktails set the mood perfectly. We enjoyed the live jazz on our visit without overpowering conversation. It can get crowded and pricey, but the atmosphere is a must for jazz lovers and cocktail enthusiasts alike.

The bartender was excellent and made the experience. Jazz band was good but hard to visit over the music.

Food review is based only on drinks, but they were exceptional. The bartenders are super knowledgeable and able more than able to point you in the right direction if you are indecisive. Went for live music on Saturday and there was a $10 cash only cover.

Just had an excellent time at prohibition, where boredom is the only illegal thing here. You pay a small cover of $10 per person, and enjoy a great and intimate music experience. This was on a Saturday night. A must visit location for anyone who is even slightly interested in music and/or having a great time!

They don't serve food here but they do serve excellent drinks! And they are not kidding around when they say they don't have vodka LOL. Very cool downstairs speakeasy. Excellent band tonight! No reservations required but very here before 9 if you wanna sit down.

Great band plays on Mondays
This will go down as the worst bar I have ever been to. Firstly, we had to pay $10 cover each - which is totally fine if it’s worth it. The cocktails were terrible, bartender was flustered and acted like he never made a drink before. No vibes, they had “live” music that we were waiting half an hour to hear and the band spent 20 minutes doing a sound check. This was 10pm in the evening, by then the band should be alive and well. When they finally started playing the vibe was like a child’s birthday party. Aesthetic is bad, few seats and standing is challenging since it’s like a galley. Couldn’t believe the price for two crappy cocktails - $50. Save your money, never again
Incredible bartenders and venue.

The libations are so yummy! Very personable tenders. Leif (sp?) took great care of us on a couple visits. I don't come to SD often but I will definitely stop back when I am here.
Really cool place, but this is supposed to be a speakeasy....it's tiny and should be secluded...it should require a reservation, have limited entry, or require a password.... But they just let everybody in and it was way overcrowded. Someone stepped on my foot/ankle twice. We thought it was weird also that there was a company photographer taking pics of couples with a massively bright flash. Seemed tacky obnoxious, and rude, as it was dimly lit. We won't be back. I'm sure back in the day it was awesome. The only thing that was good was the live music. Way overpriced too!
Leif saved the day with his pandan whiskey drink which was refreshing and tasty. It was the best drink of the night, other ones were okay. Good ambiance , have a 10$ cover
Great speakeasy vibe with solid live music sets. Expect to pay a $10 USD cover, especially on Fridays and Saturdays. Worth it for the atmosphere alone. Perfect spot if you’re into dimly lit corners, good cocktails, and raw live sound. Would definitely come back.
We had dinner upstairs at Havana’s and it was wonderful.
We love the Speak Easy. The drinks are great, the music is fabulous. We love the Blues and Jazz Jams. We enjoyed singing. We danced.
We have met some great people and musicians there.
All of the staff is friendly and professional.
