This was my second time here and sadly it was disappointing. The food was pretty bland (sea bass and braised lamb dish). The cocktails we ordered when we sat down didn't come out until after our main course food. We had one person who was gluten free so wanted to order the meatball appetizer (only gluten free appetizer) but we were told it had bread crumbs and was miss marked on the menu. It wasn't a busy night at all for the restaurant so we were pretty disappointed with the service. The two appetizers we did get (firecracker shrimp and truffle fries) were very good though! Overall though this missed the mark and we all left a little sad.

I like Rustic Root. This review is strictly for the Thanksgiving take out prefix menu. The turkey, creamed corn & green beans were gross. The best thing was the biscuit & mashed potatoes & gravy. The side portions were small. I ended up making more mashed potatoes, mac & cheese & ribs because we did not like the food. We could have skipped this since I ended up cooking anyway. I would not order again.

If you have an allergy, not the place for you. My boyfriend and I had a reservation and were seated pretty quickly. 20-25 minutes after being seated we had to reluctantly waive down the manager to get our server as we were never greeted, brought water, or had a drink order taken. The restaurant was at about 60% capacity, not full or too busy by any means. The manager handled it extremely well - she was apologetic, immediately offered to comp our first round of drinks, brought us complimentary bread and got our server to come over. We ordered our mains immediately and I clearly let the server know I had a severe food allergy when putting in my order (a chicken Cesar salad). She never acknowledged it which made me feel as though she didn't hear me or care. My salad comes out with no chicken on it which prompted my boyfriend to tell the manager, and then re asks about my allergy since the server clearly didn't missed a part. The chicken comes out 2 minutes later, followed by the server running over 5 minutes after and taking the salad away as it was possibly “cross contaminated” as she never put my allergy in. Thankfully I waited to eat it until someone came back and confirmed it was okay. When I was re-served the salad, I confirmed the plate of chicken received had my allergy considered and the server told me yes. 20 minutes after we finished eating and AFTER we paid the bill (we were leaving) someone from the kitchen comes walking over with chicken on a plate, mentioning an allergy flagging. I was completely shocked and concerned as clearly there was zero communication or regard to my allergy. I ended up being okay with what I ate but truly had a horrible experience from the start to finish. I will reiterate the manager was apologetic and kind, but as someone who does not like to complain at restaurants truthfully these mess ups should have resulted in my meal being taken off at MINIMUM. The remainder of my night was filled with anxiety of a possible reaction.

Our experience was good! This was our 4th time coming here. Price for size of food is fair, it was pretty loud but not too bad for a saturday around 2pm.

The lobster pasta was overcooked and not good at all. Tasted like a frozen dinner. The boar bolognese was good way meatballs were good, but just that. I got a 1980 cosmopolitan that tasted like pure lemon. I would not go back.

We came here for dinner and had a bit of a mixed experience. At first the service seemed really slow and a bit disorganised but I think it was just a bit of an off night and it was quickly redeemed. The staff were really friendly and helpful and clearly acknowledged that initial delay and then went above and beyond to deliver a good experience. The drinks we got were really good and the food was even better. Really well cooked with great flavours. The atmosphere is nice too with a mix of areas to sit and very spacious, comfortable tables. We sat outside along the street which was a really nice spot.

My company had a large dinner here as part of our planning meeting ( about 100 people). The experience was poorly managed. Drinks and appetizers took a very long time to arrive, but everyone enjoyed the shrimp and burrata. The meatballs were not good and even after asking twice we never got a serving spoon for them. There’s masked potatoes and gravy under them. Entrees also took a very long time to arrive. Most people disliked the steak and fries, calling it gamey. It was described as a filet, but I don’t think it was and most of them were overcooked. I had the sea bass. It was well cooked with crispy skin, but served in a shallow bowl with so much olive oil that was really unnecessary. Nobody at my table had the pork chop option. After dinner we waited so long for dessert that more than half the group left without it. They served runny, unset chocolate pudding that was overly sweet and certainly not worth the wait. The atmosphere is good with plenty of space. Overall, this restaurant is not capable of hosting a large group, but probably does an okay job with usual customers.
