I got the mapo tofu and it was one of the most disappointing dishes I've ever had. This item had no flavor, so much oil and just a horrendous waste of money. I got takeout thinking it'll be something I'd enjoy but I left very disappointed.

Concerned with restaurant hygiene - saw 2 little cockroaches on two pieces of cabbage I picked up consecutively, my husband saw 1 too on his cabbage. Told the server there are bugs in this dish, the server said he will let the kitchen know. Then didn't come back for any other apologies. Avoid ordering any leafy vegetables at this place.

And oldie but a goodie! I first dined at this restaurant when I was in college in the area many moons ago. Since leaving the area after college, I haven't had the opportunity to return much. But on a recent work trip, I was actually visiting another establishment in the same place. I saw that Spicy City was still there and decided I would come back on another day to see if it was just as good as I remembered. I was very happy with my order of shredded potatoes with green pepper, dry sauteed string bean and homestead kidney. The portions were sizeable and the dishes did not feel overpriced. I had plenty to take with me for a meal the next day. Everything I ordered came out quicky and piping hot. The staff was friendly and attentive. It was a packed house at about 7pm on a Wednesday which was great to see. If I'm in the area again, I will definitely want to come back to venture into the cheek numbing options.

Excellent, genuinely oriental food. But watch out, it can be very spicy!

Homestyle Beef was fantastic! It may not even be on the menu? Shredded Pork Szechuan was awesome! The menu has good pictures to help you choose and know what you're getting. Notice the number of chinese who eat there: that's always a good sign.

I have only been here once. We went with a bunch of spicy food enthusiasts and ordered a while bunch of things so we had quite the variety of foods to try. I really enjoyed most things we ate and can't make a favorite yet. The service was ok, but the dining area was full when we arrived so they were pretty busy. It was really crowded and a bit noisy but worth the experience. The lazy Susan helped all 10 or so of us to get a bite of everything.

Tried this location for noodles, but my order wasn't complete. Ordered the dan dan noodles, but the noodles only came with green onions and peanuts, where's the rest? Ordered Togo so I couldn't go back.

The dining experience, overall, has been consistently disappointing in terms of taste. Despite multiple visits, I found the food lacking, often being excessively greasy. The service, characterized by waiters rushing to take orders, made it challenging for me to take the time to review the menu thoroughly. Additionally, I observed that the prices were not more affordable than other establishments.

Came on a rainy Saturday night without making reservations, and managed to secure the last table large enough for 5! The restaurant's interior, on the smaller side, exudes a classic charm reminiscent of family-owned Chinese establishments, sparking a nostalgic feel. Portion sizes were great, and the menu was a bit smaller/less varied than other Sichuan/Chinese restaurants I've been to, but still had a decent amount for diverse tastes at very fair prices. Value is definitely their strong point. While the spice level didn't quite match up to the intensity of Szechuan food in SF/Bay Area, the flavors were still rich and savory. The eggplant with spicy garlic sauce, while good, had a unique twist with a strong vinegar flavor that might not be everyone's preference. However, the cumin beef stole the show with its bold, savory taste. My only wish is for the dishes to pack a bit more heat and intensity of flavors.

Went with a group and we all tried each others stuff, since some of it’s served family style. Everything was fantastic!

Small restaurant with about 12 table for diners however the service is very fast. The food is very flavorful and rich with just the right amount of spice. Everything our table of 5 ordered was a hit especially the pork chop and deep fried shrimp. We also ordered the spicy beef hot pot, pork Yunnan rice noodle, whole Seabass, 4 beers, tea, cold cuts all for $138. We had lots of leftovers to take home!

Its been 5 years since my nasty nasty well publicized divorce. I was painted by the media as a sexist and bigot. So it hasn't actually been easy to find a place where I feel welcome. Spicy City is fantastic. Classic Szechuan dishes cooked perfectly every time. My ex-wifes new husband doesn't like Chinese food so I'm confident I won't run into him here. Service is great, always with a smile and gives great menu recommendations. I once forgot my leftovers at the table because I was preoccupied by thoughts of when I was happy and the owner ran after me and gave them to me in the parking lot. You can't put a price on service like that! Definitely would recommend.
