Oh my gosh, this place is fantastic and Kenny is amazing! Staff is super attentive. Food is Uber fresh love it love it love it.!!
Came here for happy hour 3-6pm and I really enjoyed their food. Fair prices and great quality.

Everything was so tasty! Salmon Kama was our favorite and I have never seen it on a happy hour menu before. Such a big piece that was so fatty and meaty! We ordered a few of those! It does take a while to make so allow time for this.

My fiancé and I genuinely love this place. After Akai Hana closed in Rb we were searching for something that brings the personal family owned vibe that we came to know and love over there. Sushi Gato absolutely brings that to the table. You really get the sense that they care so much from their hospitality and the Quality of the sushi is truly special in my opinion.

Sushi Gato is a restaurant that offers a welcoming and accommodating dining experience. The staff is polite, attentive, and quick to notice whenever you need anything. The restaurant itself is very nicely decorated and welcomes you in right away. The food is excellent and the quality of the fish used is truly special. The sushi is some of the most delicious in all of San Diego. The hospitality and quality bring a personal family owned vibe.
For happy hour 3-6pm, the prices are fair and the quality is great. Menu items include Takoyaki ($4.95), Salmon Kama ($5.95), Shrimp tempura crunch roll ($12.95), Spicy yellowtail roll ($7.95), Spicy salmon roll ($7.95), the shrimp temporary Crunchyroll, the Alaska roll, California rolls, and the chicken katsu roll. The Salmon Kama is a favorite, a big piece that is fatty and meaty. It does take a while to make so allow time for this. The chicken katsu roll is spectacular and consistently made to perfection every time. The California rolls are some of the best, especially during happy hour when they are an amazing value. The only complaint is the portion size for the protein, which was chicken and salmon. The quantity served was underwhelming. Overall, the dining experience is very good. Many already made plans to come back again next week.
