If you come to SD, you must try. This place is the real deal. As a self declared foodie who has travelled the world looking for the best eats, I fully endorse Taka. Sat at the sushi bar and had a great experience! They even have a bottle of Habushi from Okinawa behind the counter. You must ask them to show you! Pretty cool!

had several rolls, it was just alright. no spicy mayo available which was odd. soy sauce was too salty. took a while for server to notice we had been seated without menus, no water refill, and they forgot to turn on outdoor heating the entire time we were seated.

Just a perfect find on our trip and stay in the gaslight district for business. Food was fresh and expertly prepared. The price was very fair in general, but especially considering the location. We tried other places before we ended up here, and then we just kept coming back. I think that says everything.Thank for the wonderful food and recommendations.

Wonderful sushi. Had Toro, seared Toro, Nadoguro (Blackthroat sea perch), and a yellow tail roll. The Toro and Nodoguro were especially tasty.

Some of the best sushi I've ever had! Everyone from the hostess, to the servers, to the itamae were inviting and friendly. Will definitely be back next time I'm in San Diego.

Based on other reviews, I had higher expectations and was disappointed. Unfortunately, it’s a standard sushi joint. Nothing imaginative. Salmon sashimi was firm and a bit chewy. Rolls were average and basic selection. It was fine, but not great.

I entrusted my Valentine’s Day dinner here and want to thank you guys for the incredible white glove service and delicious mealI came in early in the week with a heart shaped plate, dropped it off with the manager/chef and reserved a specific table.Day of… everything went PERFECTLY without me having to remind and of the staff when I came in. The head/main chef gave me a nod and remembered meAte $300 worth of fresh sashimi and it was the perfect choice. Thanks again

Stopped in for dinner. We tried several different rolls which were excellent! One standout for them is that they do not use too much rice. Would definitely eat here again.

One of the best sushi places in San Diego, small place with a huge and very high quality nigiri selection. Rolls are great too, spicy scallop and rainbow are my go-to’s. Warm dishes are one of their highlights, don’t miss the Special Dynamite, it will change your life.

I used it during a business trip to San Diego. There are several Japanese chefs and the waiters are locals. The customer service was good, and I was able to eat sushi with ingredients that were equal to or better than those in Japan. I would like to visit again.
