I went to the Fairmont Grand Del Mar to meet my brother and elderly mother. This is a gorgeous property, with a 3 Michelin star restaurant and other dining options. In this beautiful hotel, the thing that impressed me the most was the employees, specially Neil and Christian at the Front Desk. They were the kindest to us, even helped lower the height of the bed, so my mom could be more confortable, gave us advice were to go when she got ill, and I stayed in several Fairmonts in the past and never encountered such excellent service in general, but specially the Front Desk impressed us. The Valet/Bellman were also excellent and at Concierge Shel was just the kindest. The Spa attendants were also amazing, the massage therapists was excellent. She was from Lithuania and unfortunately I didn't get the spelling of her name.I hope to come back in November with my husband to experience this amazing property and staff. As we say in Hawaii, Ahui ho, see you soon!

Well we came over for golf a reservation made thur a company it was a huge Rip Off the Golf Course is beautiful and they have spend some money but it's still not worth 300 dollars and What we didn't Like was they Force you to Have a Damm Caddie and that's going to Cost you 60 or more dollars a person a waste of your money and time you don't need a caddie to play this couse Torrey Pines does not even force you to have a Caddie it's BS and then I had a sandwich chicken and it was $$ 31 dollars for me I will never be back because it's over priced outrageous Caddie didn't do Jack out there never cleaned my golf ball once a Complete waste that's why I'm giving the Fairmont 0 to 1 stars I don't like br ripped off and if your forcing golfers and Guest to have a caddies your Ripping them off

We have been fortunate enough to produce events at the incredible Fairmont Grand Del Mar for over 10 years now. This review has been a long time coming, but we wanted to drop a note and express our deepest gratitude to the team at GDM for all their support and care to all of our VIP clients over the past years. GDM and their incredible staff go above and beyond for our clientele--everyone from the catering/banquet team, sales team, concierge, restaurants, and even the coffee shop. Our clients are always raving about their service and their standard of excellence--something we are proud to be a part of. GDM is unparalleled for beauty and elegance, and truly the best place to begin a lifetime of memories. We are beyond grateful to everyone in management for their constant (and consistent) service and devotion to not only our team, but to our clients--everyone from concierge, and the phenomenal chef William Bradley, to the amazing Food & Beverage team Victoria Schroeder and Dana Cooper. Look no further than GDM for any event you want to host. They are truly the crown jewel of San Diego.

A lovely property with friendly staff, but a bit out of the way unless attending a conference or using the golf course. The restaurant on property is usually good for breakfast, my experience at dinner has been mixed. The spa is nice but very expensive.

The best resort in Southern California hands down! The rooms are spacious, the service is top notch, and the grounds are impeccable. Highly recommend a visit if you have not been yet, you will not regret it!

Like many of the other posts have mentioned, the staff stands out from other luxury hotels I've stayed. Extremely friendly, and very helpful. They were helpful in ways I wouldn't have anticipated but very much appreciated. I played the Grand Del Mar golf course on property and left my scorecard on the cart. I wanted to keep it as a souvenir so called the pro shop and asked if it was OK if I came back up there to look for it. They said, "no problem, we'll find it and drop it off at the front desk." And they did. Not sure a lot of other resort staffs would have done that. Another example would be Justin, a member of the main lobby wait staff who tipped us to the incredible selection of books in the library bar, gave us some good recs on bars to visit in the SD area and was just overall very pleasant and fun to chat with while dining. Overall, the resort is beautiful, the Carmel valley is beautiful, but the staff is the biggest reason I would not hesitate to recommend this resort. Room Tips: If possible get a room on the first floor facing the adult pool. Really nice to be able to walk out on your private patio and have direct access to the pool. 1st floor rooms are also right next to the spa and gym, both of which are what you would expect from a 5 star resort. General Stay Tips: Use the car service. John is awesome. He'll take care of you.

The pillows were not the greatest, hotel front desk was terrible. Not worth for the money and get terrible service. Restaurant food was not the best and service was not the best. And prices were extremely high not worth it!!

Everything is just perfection at the Fairmont Grand Del Mar. Every single team member is fantastic and welcoming, professional and friendly. Perfect location fo couples but also for families with kids of all ages. The valet was so kind and helpful, Christian at the front desk was very detailed and informative, the room was perfection… and the bathroom!! Wow gorgeous!! The view from every room is just fantastic and so relaxing. My mother and I went for a 90min massage at the SPA and it was the most relaxing and safe space with all the needed amenities! Sauna, steam room, jacuzzi.. the robes are extremely soft. Brody and Sandy (I was so relax that I am not sure I got the name right, sorry) were so professional and extremely talented. They have two different pools area so you can choose to be at the pool with your kids but also have the option of an “adult pool” to enjoy some relaxing time. A special thank you to Amanda E and Kai who made us feel like home away from home. It was our 4th visit and I can wait to go back again.

Beautiful hotel. Lovely staff. Great way to start our road trip! Our first three nights of holiday started here after we arrived from London and we weren’t disappointed. The hotel is everything you would expect from a Fairmont. Staff are discreet and we didn’t ever see a housekeeping cart in the corridor! Staff always stop, stand to one side and say good morning as you pass any of them in the corridor. Can’t fault it on any level.

I have stayed at the Fairmont Del Mar several times. It is the only hotel I stay in when visiting San Diego. The hotel staff (every one) is simply fantastic. I enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and the canyon views. Look forward to visiting again.
