Urbane Cafe is a popular spot in the neighborhood. The food is great and the menu offers items like the So Cal Sandwich, steak bowl, Santa Maria bowl, and Crunchy peanut bowl. The So Cal Sandwich comes with avocado, pepper jack cheese, roasted chicken, greens, a chipotle aioli, and a tomatillo salsa for $12.25 plus tax. Reviewers note that the sandwich was pretty good but some used guacamole instead of freshly sliced avocado. The roasted chicken was good, though a little hard to distinguish due to a heavy tomatillo sauce. The bread is good as usual.
Staff are super welcoming, friendly, quick and kind. Service is good and the environment is good, even with occasional little ones screams echoing off the walls. There is al fresco seating so everyone can enjoy the food. Some mention cleaning their tables off and that the customer had to clean his own table before seating, but overall hospitality is friendly. Cookies are to die for, super buttery and soft. Prices are affordable and the atmosphere is great. Many say they would come again.
