Food was delicious! I’m lucky to have married into a Guatemalan family and my mother in law is an excellent cook… This reminded me of home.

Craving Guatemalan food, this restaurant offers an incredible, authentic meal. The food is true to Antigua, with Tamales Colorados hot and delicious. The typical breakfast ‘La Merced’ hits the spot with chorizo, beans, pico de gallo, fried sweet plantains, cream, and tortillas. Traditional antojitos Guatemaltecos are really good, and El caldo de gallina is really delicious with homemade tortillas. The place is small, cozy, clean, and decorated, with charming Guatemalan marimba music. The staff offered a welcoming vibe, with wonderful breakfast plates and a tasty masa-blanketed roast pork tamale. The salsas were very good, and the roasted red pepper one was decently spicy. The chile relleno was a really delicious stuffed chile, and the dobladitas and caldo de pollo were tasty. Service was quick and kind, and it’s a family owned restaurant that makes you feel at home.
