Great food. Shrimp was cooked really good. Lamb's marination was very good. Mushroom was amazing. octopus was flavourful. Will definitely go back.
Tried most everything on the menu. Most was lackluster, but there were some definite standouts. The bread was good, shrimp was overcooked but the sauce was good, olives were good, meatballs didn't have any flavor, drinks were all good, vegan meatballs were awful (which was disappointing), there was a potato thing (croquettes?) which was tremendously okay, chorizo was good not great, ribeye was out of this world, and the churros with whipped cream were so good I want to be baptized in them.Service was great, place was clean, really enjoyable experience. I'd definitely go back now that I know what to get, but there was a lot of disappointment between the all-star dishes.
We ordered 3 dishes - Mushrooms (5/5), Patatas Bravas (4/5, Potato dish), Plant based meatball (2/5, Didn’t like the taste and texture), Spicy margarita (4/5).Overall decent place for vegetarians with flavorful options.
Amazing tapas and other Spanish food. Very nice service.
DELICIOUS! Literally everything we ordered was devoured and we thought we over ordered! The ham and cheese croquettes were a tie for my favorite with the churros and sangria ??Music was great, service was fabulous, and everything tasted so so good!We had a table that was somehow in the middle of the room but felt sequestered thanks to the layout and placement of curtains throughout the space. ?We had a reservation which I definitely recommend for parties > 2 if you’re time constrained!
My husband and I went here for a Friday night dinner. We did reserve online on the same day. I think we were lucky since most folks were probably out of town.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Service was superb and they were very attentive. We ordered dessert wine and I didn’t like mine. I usually wouldn’t say it but the owner asked. He replaced my drink and it was delicious ??⭐️⭐️⭐️ Food was good too! We ordered the paella negra, crab croquette, and basque cheesecake. I expected a bit more with the cheesecake, but it tasted like a normal one. Not the Basque style but still good.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ambiance was great. We liked the music played and it felt intimate. There were families dining as well.
We were visiting San Francisco for 10 days and went to Bask on our last night for my birthday. I can say that it was hands down the best meal we had during our holiday. The food was simply delicious and my only complaint is that they aren’t open more as we would have been back for lunch before our flight the next day! We shared five dishes between two and each one was as delicious as the next, we spent a lot of the next day talking about it. I’m coeliac and they were very knowledgeable (as well as the menu being clearly labelled) and reassured me that each dish was gluten free as they put it down. Just fantastic service.
The price-quality ratio of their tapas is not as expected. We paid more than 50 USD per person for not much food. I understand that the tapas are always small, but the price is not commensurate. If you go to another restaurant like Picaro, for example, the tapas have the same "intermediate" quality and are bigger and cheaper (i.e 14 Bask vs. 10/11 Picaro).

We happened to find this gem quite serendipitously. First up- they have an actual Spanish Mourvedre. If that's not awesome enough they have a section of menu dedicated to vegetarian dishes- we tried many and all were great but the highlight of them all was a set of terrific vegan lamb meatballs. I thought they would taste just like most simulated meat but was rather surprised at the pleasant texture and aftertaste. Great choices and presentation on desserts as well- one star deducted for a strawberry sauce that just didn't pair with the chocolate lava cake.
One of the best meals I’ve had in SF. Wasn’t able to find a spot at one of the “fancier” restaurants in the neighborhood and found ourselves here and couldn’t be more thankfully. The goat cheese and shrimp dishes along w the lamb were out of this world

If I could give zero stars, I would. I went here because of the positive reviews. Very surprised there were only 3 tables occupied, two by men and one by 2 couples. Despite the place being next to empty, nobody ever came to my table. Even after I made eye contact with the waitress, she ignored me. Walked across the street to The Macoroni and was seated by the owner who immediately asked me if I would like a glass of wine. In less than 3 minutes, my order was taken, I had a glass of red, and bread at my table. Oh, and did I mention I met the owner’s wife in that time as well? STAY AWAY FROM BASK! Go to macoroni instead.
Had a meal here last week while in San Francisco on holiday from the U.K.Food was lovely with portion sizes just right….not piled high but not small either. The atmosphere was very relaxed…it seemed to be a place people went to meet up with friends. There was lots of laughter around us…a lovely place to eat & relax.Staff were very friendly, didn’t rush us to leave but left us to enjoy our food at our own pace, checking in on drinks and that we were ok.A lovely place and one I would go back to regularly if I lived in San Fran.
Great place for a group so you can try lots of the tapas! Good food, and efficient service as well.
Really fun tapas place. I highly recommend the fried chicken. It is out of this world delicious. Batter is very unique and a great crunchy yet soft inside. experience. The seafood food paella is also really good and a must try. The fried potatoes exceeded expectations especially with the sauce that was drizzled on top of it.
Oh, we *loved* eating here. My boyfriend and I decided to eat here spontaneously before seeing the AirOtic Soirée at the Great Star Theater nearby, and that was the best choice we could have made!We were seated immediately even without a reservation, and our server was very friendly. The drinks are delicious (I had the Tchupito, the rose infused white wine sangria-- it tasted exactly like roses from the garden, sooooo good!), and the food is to die for. We had the patatas bravas, creamy mushrooms, crab croquettes, beef bone marrow, and albondigas. We unfortunately had to leave early to catch our show, or we would have stayed longer and eaten even more because everything on the tapas (and dessert) menu looked sooo good!! We will absolutely be back again!
