Ended up at Bobo's for dinner before an event at KQED around the corner. The tofu/mushroom banh mi I ordered surpassed my expectations! The baguette was crusty yet chewy and not too flaky, it was filled with a good amount of tofu, and came with a tasty mayo/butter-like spread rather than pate. The sandwich came out to around $15 and took about 20 minutes to serve - note that the restaurant may only be staffed by one person in the evenings, so service can take time. This is not some fancy place! You go for the food and the fact that there’s one woman working the place who clearly takes a lot of pride in her work. I got the duck bahn mi and a Vietnamese ice coffee and my friend go the veggie spring rolls. All was awesome!! My only complaint was my two things were $32 all in (was expecting more like $25). Would go again!
