This is easily the best coffee I’ve had from a cafe! I wish I’d bought the coffee to take home with me back to Georgia, and tried to order after leaving city, but had issues ordering. If I ever come back to San Francisco, this will be my first stop. The man helping us this morning was very sweet and patient with us. Thank you!! Oh, all of our pastries were delicious as well!!
We love the owners! True authentic individuals! Someone I would leave the keys to my house, car, safe deposit box with! And THE BEST COFFEE!!!!

Caffe Trieste is a historic and pleasant café with a distinct identity that resonates with locals. The café offers delicious pastry, including dulce de leche alfajores, coconut cookies, and pastafrola. Good coffee is also available, with many praising the best cappuccino in North Beach. The old-school Italian coffee shop has quick and pleasant service, and no reason to go anywhere else in SFO for espresso. While the cleanliness of the location could be improved, the café's unique energy and nostalgic charm make it a cult spot. The seating area can be a bit tight, but the ambience and decor are 100%, with fascinating black & white photos on the wall. It's legendary and still atmospheric, good for a quick writing session or getting drawn into conversations with the eclectic clientele. Many visitors enjoy the rich history displayed on the walls, and the place remains a popular spot for locals and tourists alike. The baked goods and pastries add to the authentic experience.
