Really aggressive bartenders and the inside smells like a men's bathroom. The beer selection is not what you'd expect from a place with the name City Beer Store

Fantastic place with lots of beers on tap as well on the fridge to go.

The original craft beer bar and bottle shop in their Mission location in the old Amnesia spot.Great selection of craft beers, friendly knowledgeable staff, chill vibes.

It was cool to go to the game night! Great selections!I gave 4 stars since it's a bar vibe here but the tender was unenthuzed. As a bar manager, you make regulars by prompting conversations and making relationships. She barely took my order. I think the manager served my my first drink. He was nice. I mean, she wasn't rude at all, she just barely looked at me as I sat a lone at the bar for a while. Just seemed odd. Still 4-stars. Still will go back. Maybe I'll get a smile out of her ?

I didn't get to go to the old City Beer Store location often before it closed but have now been to the new location (which replaced Amnesia) a few times. I love having this solid beer spot available when I'm cycling down Valencia--such a temptation to pull over! The inside is very much no frills in the best possible way. It feels like some of the great beer bars I've been to in Europe. They have a smallish cooler with some cans and many a great beer on tap. The style range is pretty diverse, so most tastes should be well-covered. If you need a recommendation, the staff can definitely help you out and guide you to your new favourite. They don't serve food though it appears that they are ok with it being brought in. However, the tables are on the small side so I would recommend more of a small snack. They are surrounded by excellent food so you'll have no shortage of options.

Been going to city beer for close to a decade now, ultimately of the three locations their newest one is the worst, but I suspect it was necessary after COVID and unsustainability of its mission st. spot. I still appreciate the online store and will come here if there is an amazing tap takeover but not a must to frequent anymore. Most pics you'll see on this listing are the old locations.

Decent beer selection, both on tap and bottled. All styles and flavours are there, and you can take a small taster, or a full glass. Highly recommend.

A shell of it's former self. They used to have great beer selections, good food, and a cost ambience. Unfortunately, that's all gone. The staff is super nice and helpful, but I wish the old one still existed

Strong beer selection, super friendly staff, great vibe. Only one non-alcoholic beer atm but watch this space!

Much smaller interior and bottle/can selection than its former SoMa locations

Great place to sample some local and not so local craft beer. Good variety on tap and even more variety available for off sales. A few food options as well. Recommend a stop here!

Ambience: no frills, neighborhood friendly, good spot to meet friends. Beer selection: moderate selection on tap, with lots more options in the fridge (cans) that you can buy. Docked one star because the beers (on tap and in can) that we ordered were not ice cold. Didn't help that the glasses weren't chilled.

Great spot w/ parklet. As of 2/18 they still had Pliny the Younger on tap. Roll through!
