Amazingly affordable pastries! Make sure to bring cash if you plan to buy less than $10! (It’s very easy to spend $8 and walk out with four pastries!)

fancy wheat field bakery is a self-serve chinese bakery at the edge of chinatown and north beach. they sell a variety of sweet and savory pastries, mooncakes etc. grab a tray and fill it with what you would like, pay at the counter. cash is recommended to avoid a card fee.i've been a couple of times now and have had the red bean bun, sponge honey cake, and pineapple bun. reasonable prices.my favorite is the pineapple bun. under $2, it is sweet and soft but with a crunchy exterior top. i like how fancy wheat field's is a tiny bit salty as it really brings out the sweetness. i've tried a couple of pineapple buns throughout chinatown and SF, and fancy wheat field has my favorite plain one so far.my only wish is that it could be served warm or they at least warm it up after you purchase it, because the baked items have been sitting on the shelf all day.

Good baked goods, including cakes and bread. Just the smell alone outside makes me want to go in and get something to eat.

Try their egg tarts, specially if you are lucky enough when they just came out of the oven. The warm egg custard and the lightly fluffy pastry are a perfect combination.Good quality baked goods at a reasonable prices. Looking forward to try out the cakes next.

Do you provide delivery in china Town of whole cake? It's for the birthday of an elderly who had mobility challenges.

I got a 8' birthday cake from here and it was so good at such a great price. There was so much fruit and the cream was not overly sweet. The service was also super fast (be sure you know what you want by the time you're at the counter). This is probably my new go-to for birthday cakes in the city!

Good selection of bakery goods freshly baked all day long.

Surely in this area, so excited to find a bread shop like this. Many, many types of sweet & savoury bread, buiscuits and cakes to choose from. Individually wrapped. So excited to put on my tray. Recommend your visit there.

Maybe it was being able to speak Chinese, but I felt right at home here. The staff was extremely friendly and made recommendations of what I should get. I was here for the none other, pineapple bun. I heard a lot of good things about it and still on the look at out for a better place in the states compared to Hong Kong. Overall the bun was good, the bun itself was not as soft and flaky as I would have hoped. It was semi soft, but not too sweet. The crust on top was light and lacked that crunch I was looking for.
