This is must have ice cream place for anyone visiting the city. As a local I have been here many times and love this store and things around it. Awesome ice cream, friendly service and awesome bay views. Ice cream is on the expensive side but worth it.

I ordered a chocolate ice cream and shared with my child. For us, it's too sweet, and the portiong is too large. We just ate half of it. I strongly suggest 4 people share it.

Great place for chocolate, co-located with the Palace Hotel, it offers delicious options, sundaes, and also souvenirs. Great little place to bring out of towners

The order was named by Ankush Kala, Naivedya Shah, and Sourabh Batwara. The ice cream is all made fresh on the spot. The ice cream is so amazing, as it is made with Ghirardelli chocolate. We had the World Famous Hot Fudge Sundae, and the Chocolate Lava Sundae. They were both so great. The ambience is amazing, with chocolate pouring out in the middle bar. It is all so good.

If you’re visiting San Francisco you must have seen Ghirardelli chocolates from anywhere so you might as well stop by to get some chocolates or on a hot day a nice ice cream sundae or on a cold day a nice hot chocolate or especially flavored one too! We stopped by here on a weeknight when it was cold for some hot chocolate. I got the original one, another friend got the sea salt caramel, and another one the peppermint hot chocolate. Service is quick and I always love seeing the different colored chocolate squares. They have a bathroom and it’s a nice shopping break or little break while you’re out! This spot is in a busy location so there’s not much street parking.

The hot fudge sundae was honestly one of the best sundaes I've had. So decadent and not overly sweet. I had never come across a chocolate sauce where you could taste the cacao nib so well. It was expensive but worth it. I wish I had bought their chocolates at the duty free at the airport!

A very good ice cream sundae at a not so good price. For $60 dollars I bought 2 sundaes and 1 scoop of ice cream with chocolate sauce on top. The store itself is pretty cool to look at and the area around Ghirardelli Square is beautiful. The service however was terrible during our experience. After being seated, one of the employees walked into the room behind us and pulled out his cell phone. Whatever he was watching had people screaming and air raid sirens going off. His phone was so loud my young children thought the noise was coming from outside. They believe something terrible was going on outside and became very afraid. This made our trip here unpleasant and the reason I gave 1 star for the service.
