What a delightful, charming, and tasty oasis in the Mission. The food and drinks are thoughtful and packed with flavors, some familiar and soul-warming, others surprising and eye-opening. The space is just the right amount of decor that sets the perfect tone. Most importantly, the owner is so hands-on, a friendly and attentive host who truly cares about every single person who walks through his doors.

Amazing food! Everything was well seasoned and according to my girlfriend tasted authentically Tunisian and reminded her of her childhood!

We went to this restaurant for a rare date night and it didn't disappoint at all. Every item that we ordered was prepared with all the love and care that a master of Tunisian and North African cuisine could deliver. The service is amazing. Our server was very thorough and thoughtful in his recommendations. Highly recommend for any special occasion.

Absolutely fantastic meal here, cannot wait to come back again already. Portions were huge and prices were very fair for the portion sizes. The bread was great, the octopus was extremely tender and well cooked, the lamb tagine was a huge portion of lamb and very tender, and the red snapper stew dish was very generous with the amount of fish and shrimp. I regret not taking more photos, as the dishes were fantastic

Food was great the place looks amazing! The branzino is to die for! Our server was amazing! The maitre d didn't give us the comfy couch seats even though they were empty till we left but I think I'll let that go cuz everything else was wonderful.

We loved Gola! I was glad we made a reservation because it was totally packed when we got there on a Saturday night (a great sign). The comforting atmosphere was evident right as we stepped in, and the Tunisian art and artifacts strewn throughout the restaurant transported me out of the Mission. To start, we got the La Marsa (scallops & shrimp in a turmeric, lemon zest, and caper sauce) with the homemade bread. The shrimp and scallops were fantastic, and the sauce had subtle but delicious flavors. I definitely recommend to get the bread to accompany the dish, so that you can sop up the rest of the delicious sauce. For entrees we got the Chreime and Chicken Tagine. Both were very good and provided nice flavor variations, but we especially loved the chreime with its slightly spicy and aromatic flavor. Next time we will get another side of homemade bread or the couscous to go with, as it would have been nice to have something to soak up the extra sauce with.Having not tried Tunisian food before, I loved the meal at Gola. Each dish was super flavorful and light, and left me wanting to try the rest of the menu.

Gola is amazing! One of my new favorite restaurants in the city. The flavors are so on point and the ambiance feels like you're in a foreign country. The service was quick, thorough, and attentive.

Really solid meal. We ordered a variety of appetizers and entrees, including the deviled eggs, kromb, fish stew, eggplant, and branzino. We also ordered all three of the desserts. Standouts were the kromb and the eggplant, if for no other reason than their uniqueness. Super flavorful and unlike anything I had tried before. Shout-out to the branzino as well, which was really fresh and a nice contrast with the spicier dishes. Service was excellent and super friendly. I wouldn't say it was quite 5-star -- for example, I was a little disappointed with the deviled eggs, which were bland -- but it's definitely worth a visit.
