Haven't been back since COVID and noted ownership and most likely chef has been changed. Dumplings were decent and fresh. Xinjiang noodles did not taste the same as before. Onion cake was okay so as the other appetizers.
One of the hidden gem in the SF area! The noodle was amazingly good with the texture and favor - the one I got was E19. I also got the skewer which has perfect seaoning that suited my taste. Highly recommended!!
Happy Family Gourmet is a true hidden gem on Taraval. The hand-pulled noodles have an amazing texture—springy, chewy, and clearly made fresh in-house. The cold noodles with sesame are another standout: nutty, garlicky, refreshing, and perfect on a warm day. And the Shandong dumplings taste exactly like home cooking—authentic, juicy, and made with real care.
