My second time here and I loved it as much as the first time. The food is fabulous - authentic, delicious, reasonably priced. The service is great. The wine list offers a nice selection of Italian varietals. Ideale has become my favorite Italian restaurant in the city.
As newcomers to San Francisco, we're always on the lookout for cozy neighborhood Italian spots—and this one checks all the boxes. We visited on a Tuesday evening, and the place was buzzing with families and couples of all ages, giving the clear impression that it's a beloved local favorite. I went here with a friend and order pasta and gnocchi. The pasta was mediocre and oily. The gnocchi with tomato sauce was bland and not firm enough.
Overall, while the service was good and the waiter was nice, the food was mediocre. I could have went to Trader Joe’s and gotten 90% of the quality of the meal that I got here for 1/10 the cost.
