My go to place for Banh mi and noodle soups. I order from here at least twice a week. They are always nice and friendly. Even if they are busy they still knowledge me. My favorite is the meatball sandwich add Cha Lua. The bread is always crispy. The noodles soup is filling and doesn’t make me sleepy like from other places.

The nerve of this place to exist right in the face of Saigon Sandwich. I wonder if the owners of these places respect each other or if their business is driven by pure hatred for one another. Or maybe they are just civil people. I don't know something about a Bahn Mi rivalry really gets me going. I had to take a risk to even go to this place knowing what I've had at Saigon before. I had two sandwiches here (the combination and the chipotle pulled pork). I preferred the pulled pork. I also had the banana cake. I will say they were good but not great sandwiches. I would get the pulled pork again. That was real solid. The banana cake was a special little thing that is a must take home treat if they have them available! Saigon is a hair cheaper. Saigon has bigger portions. Saigon has better flavor. I'm sorry but this round goes to them. Can't wait for round 2. All in all L&G on its own is really good. Nothing you could ever complain about! Good by me sandwiches, for only $5 can't beat that the best time it is to go there early when they open, and if you find parking around me. A great
We lucked out on getting the last two sandwiches of the day! And that was around an hour before they closed so go early! We originally decided to venture to the Tenderloin for Saigon Sandwiches, but they ran out. Luckily, there were so many other banh mi places nearby, so we chose L&G and we're not disappointed! The special combo sandwich just tasted so fresh with the pickled veggies and jalapeños and the deli meat tasted surprisingly clean and not salty! With the perfect toast on the fluffy bread, it was a bite of pure happiness. For $6.50 for the combo, I can't complain! I'm looking forward to try other banh mi shops in the area to see how they compare!

Been ten years since I last had it. It is still the best.
If you’re looking for a good Vietnamese coffee, this place’s ca phe sua da is the best in the city. Not drippingly sweet and with such good, dark, Viet coffee aroma. You can tell immediately by the color of the coffee. Done how they do it in Vietnam, with plenty of ice to keep it cold and still fragrant as the ice melts.

Delicious, fast, great quantity, and all for $6 or less. I had a pork sandwich and a chicken sandwich. Both were perfect -- flavorful, satisfying, crispy roll. Will return.

A gem in a toilet part of town. Basically the only reason I have to go to the ‘loin is L&G sandwiches. I feel bad about all the stuff they have to put up with to stay in business in that part of town, and I hope they can continue to hold out there. Long love L&G!
$5 for this huge and thick meat banh mi is an amazing deal in this economy. The location and the shop look old and sketchy, but the quality and the price was surprisingly good, no wonder this place has a lot of positive reviews. This place is a to-go style, not dine in. They take cash only. They also had other items like sticky rice, cake…

It doesn't get better than this. The crossroad between an excellent sandwich, and a fantastic deal. I almost feel like I'm taking advantage of them. I can't simply put into words how great this place is. A San Franciscan icon. Must visit.

5 stars for the large quantity of meat for only $5! The BBQ pork was surprisingly soft, flavorful, and had pieces of pork fat mixed in. Super tasty! This is a great hole-in-the-wall shop, definitely give it a try if you're in the area.

I'm pretty sure this is the best bánh mì in they city. I walked 8 blocks through the tenderloin after dark to get my sandwich because traffic was gridlocked during friday rush hour. I wouldn't have done that for a subpar sandwich.
