Found this place randomly when we were in the area - Tom is so wonderful and kind. Very sweet and friendly, which definitely makes the experience even better. The ice cream is great and reasonably priced for the gigantic amount he gives. Would highly recommend coming here and seeing Tom.

Ordered a Coconut Pineapple and Strawberry Cheesecake, and an Avocado and Ube scoops it's ice cream. I really appreciate how Tom packed in the ice cream, and used tin foil to insulate, and the ice cream was good, and the shop had unique flavors. The service was friendly. The shop is very small with not seating so everything is to-go. He doesn't have everything that's on the menu at a given time, so it's best to browse the case for what he has.

Came last night for dessert and places like this in SF feel rare. Classic 50s vibes and run by the nicest guy Tom. A double scoop is double that and he even wraps it in aluminum foil to keep it cool longer. Prices for what you get are also amazing. Cash only but happy to support this family run business!

I ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ this place. The owner, Tom is solid, kind, hands down, traditional, & old school. I walked into his shop about 8 years ago for the first time, by chance & I've been a regular ever since. My oldest son who is now 12, as well as my youngest that is now 7 have been regulars. ? He sells Mitchell's as well as Bud's ice cream. He makes excellent sandwiches at an unbelievable price, as well. I always make it a point to stop by Miyako when I am in the Fillmore. His shop is a neighborhood gem, and that's putting it lightly. He's a Godsend. I love to support mom & pop businesses. He's one of a kind. I also ❤️❤️❤️ the fact that he has bowls filled with candy for sale. He also sells cigarettes (rebel! ?). I love real people and Tom is just about as real as real gets. He is cash only and, I love the sign that he has up that reads, CASH ONLY, NO CREDIT, PLEASE DON'T ASK. He's as sharp as a tack.Kid-friendliness: Tom is awesome with kids. He knows both of my boys. I always give him a wink when it comes to my son's. He saw the look of horror on my face one day when my son was ordering a cone and his portions are very generous. He said, " All you have to do is wink at me next time." PLEASE PLEASE GO HERE! As a thrifty high schooler living in sf, finding affordable and yummy lunch options is a daily struggle. Miyako's eliminates this issue. A sandwich, nachos and cole slaw all for under 5 dollars and big enough to share with a friend? It sounds too good but it's true. I haven't even tried the ice cream yet, but the prices are similarly low. I can't wait till it gets warmer in the city so I can get a sundae!! Also, the style and decor of this store is SO CUTE! On top of all this, the sweet old man working behind the counter is so welcoming and kind but clearly needs more customer. With prices like his, it must be hard to make a profit so please support!!

I LITERATELY LOVE THIS PLACE. Me and my sister were walking by looking for a place to eat and we saw the sign for $3.95 sandwiches with a side of nachos and either mac and cheese or coleslaw. The owner, Tom was so sweet and the portions are really good. 100% recommend.

I've wanted to try this place for a long time as I had heard about the wonderful and kind owner and his unbeatable prices. Since the shop only accepts cash, I was only able to go today... and it was everything I was hoping for. The sandwich combo comes with so much food (a pretty big sandwich, mac salad or potato salad and side of nachos w nacho cheese)-- all for $4.25 and taxes. Watching Tom put together the sandwich felt really homey and comforting... this place is a true gem. I'll be coming back to try the hot dog as well as the ice cream that i've heard wonders about. If you're looking for a no-frill, old school and cheap place, please give this place a try! The owner would love to have you and get to know you! I forgot to take a picture, but will return soon hehe.
