Oriental Pearl Restaurant

I returned to Oriental Pearl with my (Chinese) spouse for the first time since the pandemic, a hidden gem on Clay Street. Many SF restaurants have suffered, but this one is as good as I remember it (prices are higher than before, just as they are everywhere, but still reasonable). Such a treasure! This was the best Asian food I have ever eaten. Seven of us sat down for a leisurely, conversation-filled dinner. Our server made sure we knew how many servings the designed-to-share dishes included. Her assistant offered suggestions about which sauces complemented which appetizers. Our wine was excellent and very reasonably priced. When the main dishes arrived, we were very happy with the tasty offerings. Come her everytime I am in San Francisco. Best Chinese food ever. The sweet and sour pork is like no other I had in my 50 years on earth. They do some type of deep frying where it is extremely crispy and juicy. The flavor is amazing. The other dishes are great as well. Service fantastic prices a good.
