You're paying for the Instagram backdrop, not the food. The calamari, angel hair, gnocchi, and pizza were all forgettable—bland, basic, nothing you couldn't make better at home. The calamari was surprisingly super tough and flavorless! The sauce on the linguini (north beach style) was so disappointing; it had maybe 2 sun dried tomatoes in it. For these prices, I expected homemade quality. This wasn't it. Golden Boy is right down the street. Go there instead.

Food was quite disappointing. Steak was lacking seasoning and too charred. It tasted bland and burnt. Pasta could have used more sauce. Soup and salad were nice. Cool vibe overall, wish the food was better!

We must have gone there on an off night, we sat at the bar, and the barman couldn't have been more miserable and less bothered if he tried. We ordered a house salad to start and that was ok, I'd say salad dressing forward, but not bad. But the veal parmigiana was quite possibly the worst I've ever had! Not only was it overcooked so tough as an old boot, but the tomato sauce on the pasta tasted like it had come out of a jar, the only thing that was ok was the pasta, which is hard to get wrong. We didnt get offered parmesan cheese which might have helped the pasta sauce some. We couldn't get out of there quick enough. Hopefully youll have better luck than us!

Gorgonzola gnocchi is our favorite dish but any of the cream pastas are fantastic! The gnocchi are perfectly creamy and tender.

If you like dark places to enjoy your meal- go! If you like great service- go! If you’re into gnocchi that’s like mamas-go! From start to finish all and all a great meal at a great value. And a very generous bartender/server. Thank you!

One of the last best authentic North Beach experiences, great Italian heritage and atmosphere all around, amazing interior, and super awesome service in every corner. Don't change a thing, please. You’ll feel like your Nonna smuggled you into 1950s Little Italy in a time-machine disguised as a spaghetti bowl!
The building housing was probably constructed in 1910, and feels like the interior décor has been largely unchanged since the 1950s, complete with original signage from its prior incarnation, making it a living time-capsule of North Beach’s Italian-American dining scene.
