The Progress Reviews
We walked in on NYE without a reservation and they graciously found us a spot in the bar area. Service was on point and staff were festively dressed! I love a crafty cocktail but most are too sweet. I had the Smokey mezcal cocktail 🍹. Perfection. Appetizers were delish as well. Perfect way to start our NYE celebrations.
This is seriously the best restaurant I’ve ever been to. This is my fourth time here in about a year and it has been incredible every single time. I’ve come with different people each time and it is just amazing.
Everyone I have brought thanks it is equally amazing! The combinations of flavors that are put together in each dish is just so inventive, creative, and delicious. I love this place!

The Progress is an exceptional restaurant that continues to impress with its attentive, superb, and impeccable service in a modern yet elegant and stylish vibe. The dining experience remains outstanding and well worth the cost, with a menu that rotates seasonally to offer fusion Californian fare. This includes creative small plates, delicious appetizers, and entrees. Standout dishes include the smoked sausage, masa dumplings, halibut crudo, and the BBQ duck.
The restaurant also features a variety of non-alcoholic cocktails, including the world peace milk and complex cocktails like the one punch man and scotch and crackers. Guests have praised the inventive combinations of flavors, making every dish a delightful surprise. The food is fabulous and delicious, and the wine list offers a wide selection of California's best as well as global varieties.
The menu lends itself to sharing, and the staff is very professional, providing helpful advice. The food is outstanding, with unusual pairings of ingredients and perfectly seasoned dishes. Standout items include the caviar potato cloud, the halibut with layers of flavors, and the fried green tomatoes with fig. The duck breast was super.
With its upscale-casual atmosphere and elevated menu, The Progress is a must-visit destination for foodies in San Francisco, and is well worth the special effort of securing a reservation in advance. The overall experience is enhanced by warm, friendly service, making it both comfortable and elegant.
