The Richmond Reviews
Had no idea what we were in for that night -- including the prix fix menu surprise. That said, our party of six had a fantastic dinner. Each course was delicious, and the chef would come out and explain them in detail. The restaurant is tiny, so make your reservations early, but the wine selection is extensive for such a small place. We didn't go with the pairing option, but next time I'd give it a try.
What a delight! Offering a fixed menu of seasonal fare that won't disappoint. Great service, ambiance and knowledgable chef/owner.
This restaurant is a special experience. It’s a few blocks away from the apartment my husband and I lived in 15 years ago so he surprised me with a reservation back here during our visit since it was our fave back in the day.
The owner is lovely. The food is amazing. Each dish was thoughtful and complex in the right way but totally balanced. It’s chill but refined - elegant but totally relaxed - just like us :-)
Highly recommend and we won’t wait as long to come back....read full review

The Richmond offers a delightful dining experience with impeccable service and delicious food. The tasting menu, which is the only option, features generous wine pairings and includes standout dishes like squash soup, crab cake, ribeye, and grilled chicken salad. The chef's attention to detail is evident in every meticulously prepared dish, including the flavored butter and bread. While primarily a wine bar, some guests wished for alternative beverage options. The cozy and friendly atmosphere, along with the chef's warm hospitality, make this restaurant a favorite for many. Customers praise the seasonal ingredients and well-executed modern American and French fare, such as the fall menu with piping hot kobocha squash soup and crab croquette served with tomato bouillabaisse. The intimate setting, with tables surrounded by curtains, creates a cozy private pocket for guests. The small restaurant takes great care in its service, and the experience is often described as incredible, with friendly staff and a warm ambiance. Many guests feel the effort and quality are totally worth any wait and highly recommend The Richmond for its excellent food, attentive service, and cozy setting. Don’t miss the beautiful rolls made by the talented chef, John, and the extra treats that surprise diners during their meal.
