Service was extremely slow. We waited an hour and fifteen minutes for our good after we ordered. We were only updated when we asked. We were seated by the owner and then the waiter asked us who seated us there. Very rude. I have been coming here for 50 years and this was the worst service ever. We waited at the bar for 20 minutes snd was never asked if we wanted a drink. Very disappointed.

I recently dined at Tia Margarita in San Francisco with 4 friends, and I can't say enough about the fantastic experience we had! We were lucky enough to sit on their lovely outdoor patio, which provided the perfect atmosphere for our meal. The service was outstanding; our server was friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. The food was equally impressive. We started with some delicious chips, fresh salsa, and creamy guacamole that set the tone for the rest of the meal. For the main course, we had the chicken tacos X2, which were bursting with flavor, others enjoyed the steak fajitas, Gambas al Ajillo X2, each cooked to perfection. Each dish was well-prepared and beautifully presented. To top it all off, the margaritas were amazing—refreshing and perfectly balanced. Overall, Tia Margarita exceeded my expectations, and I can't wait to return for another delightful meal!

Opentable Diner

Been going to Tia Margarita for over 35 years now, went yesterday and we had an additional guest with us, we were squeezed into a round table and then they added a chair making it impossible to sit comfortably. So I ask the “manager” if we can add a table, says no right away and shows me that they are fully booked. BS because after he said no, I went on open table and was able to reserve a two seater. So, how is that ok? All because we added one extra person to the table it was unmanageable for them. After 20 minutes of us being completely uncomfortable, he comes back and says, the table next to us is free and that we can use it??? Why was that not done 20 minutes ago? Why make a huge scene for having one more person come to the restaurant? The management has completely changed since Helen left and Jenny took over. It's poor customer service and poor ambiance. Unfortunately, after decades of coming here, I don't think I'll be returning to my once, favorite restaurant in San Francisco.

Fun dinner, great server, Omar. Food was good, old school - but not too old school. Will definitely go back.

Opentable Diner

Food is worse than mediocre and not worth price. Bar scene is lively. Waiter was great. Locals love it. They do not know better.

I hadn't been here in a few years and was reminded of how good it is when I met a friend for dinner.
The margaritas were perfect and both of our meals were absolutely delicious. But what really made the experience was the staff. They really know their stuff and seem to really love what they do and the people they work with- it makes an already great meal even better.

Everyone was very attentive! The servers, anybody walking by it was not a problem getting their attention if you needed something. It is without a doubt to margaritas in all of San Francisco! Everything else What would be expected if you were at the best Mexican restaurant in town!

An SF Classic! The service was so friendly, as always and the food was delicious! The House Margaritas are excellent! Manager stopped by to check and we had a great conversation. Great to see a long standing business still providing great Hospitality!

Excellent margaritas! If you like spicy margaritas, try them at Tia Margarita! All their margaritas are excellent. What I like is to drink a spicy one and then a regular one “on the rocks”. The service is excellent. Super effective. The boss is proactive. Our favorite server is Omar. Thanks everyone! Very good atmosphere. We will come back. Other info: Quiet and pleasant neighborhood. Great location.
