My parents are obsessed with this restaurant, deeming it their favorite Chinese restaurant in the city. I've admittedly never visited Won Kok even though I live walking distance purely because of the mediocre ratings, but it's actually frequently packed with a loyal Chinese customer base (who probably don't write reviews). service: 10/10! I called a few days before to make a reservation, but they never followed up with me, so I called day of to confirm! They are able to take parties of up to 17, so I was very happy they were able to seat our whole party!! All the servers were very nice and attentive. 0 steamed fresh live sea bass - 9/10. Came here for a casual weeknight dinner. When we arrived, Won Kok was really busy and we had to wait a bit for our table. We ordered the salty fish meat patty, soy sauce chicken, squab, pea sprouts, and a few fresh oysters with black bean sauce. Everything was great, and their squab in particular was cooked really well. We'd skip the salty fish meat patty next time, but otherwise, a great authentic meal.
