OG spot for getting amazing content India Pizza. These guys have been making this since the 80s. They know how to make it. The staff is kind and has always taken great care of us and friends.

I remember eating here many years ago and found it interesting and refreshing. Today, with the plethora of Indian pizza joints in the Bay, Zante has sadly fallen.

The poorly lit interior with barebones decor and faded posters must invoke a cozy atmosphere, but in reality comes off a bit depressing once the food comes out. The paneer pakoras were barely salted or spiced. The spinach soup had giant pieces of ginger floating in it. The onion bhaji, while crunchy, did not elevate or transport to a good experience. It's really hard to mess up pakoras for a joint that's been around for decades, but that's the sad reality.

The pizza somewhat compensated for the experience. It was as delicious as I remembered it to be with the tikka masala sauce leading the charge. But, overall the place has lost its zing.

“Indian pizza so good I saw God. Then dipped it in curry.”
(Zante’s: resourcefulness, curry, and pure creative genius.)

Zante’s is the absolute bomb. Born in 1986, it's a gem of the mission district in San Francisco, it’s the kind of place you try once and then start planning birthdays around. I never had Indian pizza before Zante’s, but after polishing off a whole chicken tikka masala pizza, I had a vision of Ganesh. It's that good. The base is a crispy, golden crust with an authentic, creamy, spiced curry as the sauce, topped with tandoori chicken and herbs that belong nowhere near a pizza, and yet, it works like magic. I say that and I’m Italian. I know good pizza when I have it, Zantes is just the best.
Zante Pizza & Indian Cuisine opened when Dalvinder “Tony” Multani bought an existing neighborhood pizzeria and kept its Greek name, but immediately began rolling his own dough and serving both classic pies and his family’s Indian dishes. Customers began suggesting a combination of the two, and before long Zante added its signature Indian pizzas, thin‑crust pies layered with spinach curry or chicken tikka masala sauce, mozzarella, and toppings like tandoori chicken, lamb, or eggplant. Recognized by SF Weekly as “Best Indian Pizza”. It is close to where my brother used to live, that's how I found out about it. I happened to visit him a lot that semester.
You know me, I always mean business. When I go I get a full serving of chicken tikka masala curry and dip the pizza into it. It’s full feral mode: sauce everywhere, breathing optional. Add a cold Taj Mahal lager and it’s bliss. I usually end up with none to take home. I’ve gone two birthdays in a row. Zante’s isn’t fusion, it's just another day at the temple, with guaranteed enlightenment.

Every time I come to the city, I get a pizza from here. The pizza is amazing and packed with flavor. I never thought an Indian pizza would be such a favorite for me but I’ve been back year after year.

There is no better deal for pizza in the Mission. The pizza is great, their large is actually a large pizza and the Indian pizzas are all pretty amazing. They're one of the few places that still delivers their own pizza so you don't pay an exorbitant fee and you can hand your tip to the guy at the door and he's always been really friendly.

Tasty Indian flavors on top of fresh baked bread. It's Indian food, but it's a pizza! Also a great value... Very reasonable prices!

This is an HIDDEN GEM. My boyfriend brought me to this place a few days ago and I was skeptical at the thought of an Indian Pizza place. All my doubts have been firmly wiped away. The pizza and especially the crust were phenomenal (and I almost never eat pizza crust). You can ask for a mint and tamarind chutney to dip your pizza in, which again sounds weird but was life changing. We had the Indian veggie pizza (without cauliflower because of an allergy) and I was blown away. My BF mentioned this place has been around for 15+ years and I'm shocked that there isn't a line around the block.

I feel like the owners could do a bit more to boost their online presence, website, marketing story, etc. But when it comes down to the quality of the food. I have to say I'll be going back here often.

This review is for those coming to eat here as a destination. I think the pizza scores points for the quality of the crust and the aroma. But for everything else, there are better options near you

Ordered from their website and it didn’t seem to work. I called them after 15 min and no one answered the phone. I showed up at the restaurant about an hour after ordering and they told me they didn’t get my order so I left. 10 min later as I was getting in my car to leave the area they called me and said my order was ready so I went back and paid via credit card. What they gave me was not what I ordered and I was disappointed in the pizza they gave me. It didn’t have sauce or the ingredients I ordered online. I think maybe they just gave me something they had ready in order to get me to come back? Very confusing!

Not the proper place for Biryani. It was served without proper salt and spices.
