Food is not as special as I remember. Butter lettuce salad under-salted, unusual for restaurant food. Cod in some kind of broth with lackluster vegetables. Tuna with parsnips just OK. About the same inflated prices as most fine dining restaurants, but not worth the price. Service was outstanding, however. Waiter anticipated all our needs before we asked, and was spot-on with every course and wine pouring.
Oh, the chicken! It is so worth both the wait and the price. This is a San Francisco tradition for a reason - everything was delicious. Even if you don't get the chicken, all of the other dishes at Zuni are always expertly prepared, with the same care, knowledge, and expertise that they put into the chicken. I love this place.
This restaurant is impeccable. From every remarkable dish, (OMG that flourless chocolate cake), to the excellent service. I've tried just about every dish on the menu and I haven't found one that I wouldn't return specifically for. Expensive but worth it.
