I phone ordered to go for late lunch today on Friday, April/12/24. Order taker immediately thinks I can speak fluent Mandarin which I do. I ordered the Taiwanese sausage rice to go. I was going for Stinky Tofu, but they told me they currently don't offer that dish on the menu. I'm giving this place a 4.5 star review due to no stinky tofu....I'm not supposed to eat that junk but been craving that dish for awhile now.... Hope they bring back the stinky tofu! I'll update in the future when they will bring back the Taiwanese Stinky Tofu.

Everything here is delicious. It seems like a lot of people were buying their set course dinner meals when i picked up, though you can order things ala carte. I quite enjoy the food here. Parking can be a little challenging sometimes in the parking garage, but there's plenty of street parking as well. I dont know whats in the set course dinner meals, but will find out one of these days....

It’s not worth it.

I understand why it's a "C" grade. First time to try but very disappointed. The food was not fresh, the chicken tasted like they were expired. Definitely can't trust their reviews anymore. I don't expect too much from home cook food, but this place was disgusting.

Ordered at the El Monte location, but that location is closed now. Reasonably priced and delicious food. Food was fresh and clean. Loved the pork chop rice and salt and pepper chicken soft bone. Can't wait to try more.

It seems like only delivery drivers come here to pick up takeout orders. They have plenty of tables to sit at, but nobody but me sitting in them. And they seemed a bit confused by my presence, honestly. You can only see a menu by scanning a QR code andb only order on your phone. It's like, they got so used to COVID-style restauranting that they and their customers forgot how to eat in.It wasn't unpleasant, just empty and confusing.

Food is very good. People are friendly. You have to give it a try. You will be surprise. Price is reasonable too.

Amazing set meal deals!! My family has been ordering their set meals for togo on the weekday and it's been life changing! You can tell the dishes are made to cater home-like meals. Not too much salt and oil are used, which my parents and grandparents love. All the entrees are tasty filled with flavor. The set meals come with 3 entrees, soup, and a full box of rice for only $23! Tell me where you can get this kind of deal in this day and age?!? Their entrees/soup come in a reusable disposable containers, which I appreciate. Reuse, reduce, and recycle! Definitely recommend trying this place out!!

I happened to see this restaurant on Yelp and wanted to give it a try. We walked in and there were absolutely nobody in the restaurant.... I mean, nobody! Even the workers were in the kitchen or bathrooms... I said, Hello~ and no response. About a minute later as we almost walked out, a lady walked out of the kitchen area and asked how she can help. I guess they don't get a lunch crowd... LOL. It was about 12:10pm during a regular weekday with no lunch crowd, so we thought about just walking out. But we were short on remaining time for lunch, so we decided to order. We got the French Style Tenderloin and the Kung Pao Chicken. The food arrived quickly and it wasn't bad at all. Since the air conditioning wasn't on and it was warm and stuffy, we quickly finished and got out of there. The food is okay and the service is decent. Maybe the crowd thing was a fluke. I will need to come back one day and try them again.

Drive by Chao's Food the other day and my wife suggested giving it a try. I called and ordered at 1130am, they had lunch special prices for the bento and dishes, I ordered the Singapore Fry Vermicelli, Honey Roast BBQ Pork rice set, Popcorn Chicken, Salt & Pepper Fried Tofu, Garlic Sauce Eggplant and Fish Cutlet w/ house tartar, also ordered 2 drinks (Jasmine Tea and milk tea for 1.75ea). All of these for $67. If it is not for the lunch special prices, I will not think it is worth it. But because of the lunch special, I do think they are worth it. The food is pretty decent and tasty, however, the vermicelli has way too much curry powder, that's why it is so yellowish in the picture. To get the lunch special prices, you do have to call, online will not have those prices. Chao's also serves a family dinner menu that has different types of dishes every night. You can order for 2, 3 or 4 people, and their price is very reasonable, I am definitely going to try them next month.

Is family style of food. For daily's dinner to take out is very reasonable price. They are typically Cantonese family food, nothing fancy but is good for everyday and family dinner. They have 3 dishes plus soup is good for small or big families.Someone like me, don't know how to cook and wants family style cooking is the best choice. And their dishes is everyday different. So no need to think what to eat and they have good daily menu and affordable.

Good for a food planning or bento box style meals. Overall Chaos food is what you would expect from a place like this mass producing ghost style kitchen. But really nothing stands out or would I make a special trip to this place.
