King Com Tam

Back in October, my friends and I spent a month vacation in Vietnam and we were introduced to Com Tam. We wanted to see if King Com Tam Vietnamese Restaurant is as authentic as we had in Vietnam.

Com tam - Vietnamese broken rice is rice that was broken during the milling process. If you're unfamiliar, broken rice has a couscous-like texture. The broken rice plate options might seem extensive, but it's just rice with various combinations of pork chop, beef, pork, fried bean curd with shrimp paste, egg roll, sausage, shredded pork and skin, and steamed egg loaf. All served with veggies, a small bowl of broth, and fish dipping sauce. The plates run from $12.99 to $20.99 for the 10-item plate. If you don't see exactly the plate combination you're looking for, you can just tell the waiter which items you want and they'll charge accordingly. Just ask if you can swap items.

Not Vietnam authentic, but then again I am no expert but definitely satisfied our cravings and brought back memories of our month long trip. We loved it so much that a month ago during the rainy weather that we went back so we can try the noodle soup/pho. The portions were generous for around $13.99 a bowl. I was craving Bun bo Hue, Vietnamese spicy beef noodle soup and my friends ordered beef pho and hu tieu, a Vietnamese Phnom Penh-style seafood noodle soup with pork and shrimp. It was good but I've had better.

Service was good. The ambiance and presentation is spot on.

We live in Orange County, but we were doing business here. Thought we should go and have some Vietnamese food. The waiter that served us was very polite and food was good, but not the best. They do give you a lot of protein for a meal though! The only bad thing about this place is that they did not give me back my change. They told me how much it cost, then when I gave them a $100 bill, the owner/cashier decided to not give me my change back. So I politely asked how much my bill was again since there was no receipt. Finally, he looked a bit pissed when I asked, but gave me my receipt as well as my coins change back. Honestly, love the atmosphere since the waiter was so nice, restroom was clean, and everything is decent, but I wouldn't come back due to customer service from the cashier.

I like the 7 item dish. It's a lot of food, but a little pricy also. Definitely will fill me up.

Great food, huge portions, reasonable prices and friendly staff. Parking is not the greatest but you should be able to find street parking. The owner was also really friendly!

My review was only for the bun bo hue to go. How should I put this nicely - it’s worse than the chicken soup or the potato and carrot I’ve been having bc I’m under the weather. It’s completely bland, lacking any depth. My brother in law also ordered his BBH to go and agreed. Please do not order this dish.

First time dining here.
The food was ok. Medium quality The establishment was clean. Service was really good. Soft music, excellent for relaxing dinner.
I love that the restroom was normally quaint, basic propped but very clean and no chemicals smell. Big plus.
The worst part was the dishes not well rinsed. All my dishes were either smelled like bleach or dishwasher detergent. Major turn off.
I hope the management will take care of that. Such a small detail that ruined my dinner

0/10 if I could absolutely horrendous service, slamming the receipt and food when I was polite and my food had a long brown hair when my hair very disgusting do not recommend at all you can go to better places in Alhambra.
