Portuguese egg tart wasn't great. Shell is not fluffy and the custard tasted like it used a lot of sweet flavoring. Missing the creamy texture and sweetness and butteryness from the milk and egg. Quite off tasting. Maybe other bake goods are better?

Home of the Original Green Waffle! This family-owned bakery is well-known if you grew up visiting Vietnam Town and has been passed down for three generations! Aside from their infamous waffle, they also have amazing pastries and baked goods, their egg tarts being one of them! This place sells out quickly, so if you know what you want, preorder online for pick up to avoid the lines and risk your goods being sold out!

Seriously. SO GOOD.

If I lived in San Jose, I would eat here all the time. I stopped in while visiting the area for a work conference and CA Bakehouse did not disappoint.

We got so many things:
• Ube + taro choux
• Ube + taro croissant
• Portuguese egg tarts
• Pandan Green Waffle
• and Pandan bread

My favorites had to be a toss up between the flaky, delicious Portuguese...
