I think it's all my fault. My wife has pointed out that once I declare a place to be one of my favorites they have maybe a year left :-( My favorite dish here had been the dan dan noodles. Usually when I get dan dan noodles they're dry, but here the noodles are in a very tasty, spicy broth. I wish I could get more of that broth. I hope they reopen somewhere. I just drove by today (2021/09/24) and saw the location is now The Skewer Bar.

We put in an online order and drove for half an hour to pick up our food only to find out that the restaurant is closed on Mondays. Their website clearly states that they're open 5-7:30pm on Mondays, and the website let us order without any issues. Complete waste of time. Their website hours are clearly incorrect and should not accept orders when they're not open. There were some people present at the restaurant, and when we talked to them we were told that they're been renovating but forgot to update the website.

The good: I placed a phone order and my order was ready right on time. I tried the garlic beef, hot and sour soup, combination fried rice, tomato fried fish and green beans. I think the last 2 dishes were the best dishes there. I liked that they put the tomato sauce on the side for the fried fish for the to-go order so that the fish wouldn't get soggy. I don't know what kind of white fish was used. The green beans were cooked nicely and had a nice crunch without being undercooked. These dishes were more than enough to feed 6 adults and 2 kids for my family ($90.45). The bad: The hot and sour soup could have used more punch. It liked the acid and kick of flavor that. most hot and sour soups have. The combination fried rice was on the boring/plain side. There's currently no outdoor seating. The garlic beef was full of garlic flavor but was a little too much for me. It definitely needed to be balanced with rice because it packed almost too much flavor and was pretty greasy. The interesting: Rice doesn't come with any of the entrees so you must order that separately. Right now, there are only pick-up/to-go orders. I didn't see any dining at the restaurant when I came.

Got kung pao chicken and the eggplant dish. The chicken was nice but the eggplant had tpo much flour coating amd I did not expwct it to be fried. Also for some reason the chicken came in half the size as eggplant with the other half being rice.

I got the Dan Dan noodles. Says $10 on the menu but I paid $14 somehow for a tub of spaghetti with chili oil and a splash of pork on top.

Despite moving all over different parts of the Bay for 5+ years, my boyfriend and I have traveled over here to eat at Golden Garlic whenever we get the chance. We love garlic and spicy food, so this place is amazing to us and one of our favorite restaurants. (Note: If that's not what you're into, there ARE great dishes here that don't have garlic and are not spicy as well!) Every time we come here, the food taste, service, and speed at which you are seated and receive your food has been super consistent. We have also ordered to go from here during quarantine when the restaurant has been closed, and the service has continued to be very reliable - it's super easy to place your order via phone and pick up fairly quickly. One time we even got a free dish through our to go order, maybe someone else didn't pick theirs up? Either way we greatly appreciated the gesture from the restaurant. We'll continue to come to Golden Garlic to eat when we are in town!

I live two minutes away and this is my little hidden gem of a restaurant. The food is expensive for what you get, but they have HUGE menu and I've never been disappointed. I love their hot and sour soup and veggie fried rice. I've dined in and most recently (obviously) have done take-out and my order is always correct, which is great. The food doesn't take long to prepare, but is fresh so you know it hasn't been sitting around.

I go here...a lot. Food is good, priced fairly, and service is quick. I love the convenience and the staff is really nice too.

Highly recommend the beef and golden garlic. Also highly recommend the dumplings in chili oil and the honey walnut prawns. Those are the only things I have ordered from here and they are freaking amazing. I'm sure everything else on the menu is just as good. I'll be going back to try it and I'll let you all know. Oh actually I had the cilantro lamb too and that was great. Worth every penny.

Ordered the crispy fish with tomato sauce today, this is how it looks like..... And it tastes lawful.... So disappointed. Not sure if the chef has been changed.... I have been keep visiting this restaurant for last 2 years. Won’t come again.

We've eaten at this restaurant before and enjoyed it, so we were excited to take advantage of a DoorDash "pickup" offer to get a couple of lunch specials. Unfortunately what I ended up with was probably the worst example of Kung Pao Chicken ever, nothing like what I ate in the restaurant pre-covid. It was 50% zucchini which maybe explains the ocean of liquid it was swimming in. Chicken chewy and not much Kung Pao wow. Just awful. We also didn't receive the soup that was listed as part of the lunch special. My wife did enjoy her Mongolian Beef though. Lucky her.

F*** this place: they didn't answer the phone. So I drove there. Then they said we are closed at 7:15 pm on a Wednesday evening and to check Yelp for hours. Yelp said open until 9:30pm. He said again we are closed. Door was open and we could walk in though? What the f**** Will not be back. You do not deserve customers.

Based on their signature diced beef/garlic clove dish. Normally i love beef and garlic--this had the smell/taste of a petting zoo--not an exaggeration. It's as if one of the cooks stepped outside to grab a pinch of barnyard floor essence to season the beef with. I honestly couldn't continue eating it. $18.95 down the drain. Hope all the other stuff is good...
